Born to Die is easily Lana Del Rey's most successful album. The project, which helped her reach superstardom more than a decade ago, was a big win upon its release, and it has hardly faded in popularity since.
The collection continues to appear on charts around the world with regularity, as fans not only stream it, but also continue to purchase the title – a real rarity in today's music industry. Del Rey is preparing to release a new full-length at some point this year, and while she drops single after single from the upcoming effort, fans remain drawn to Born to Die .
The star-making release is once again a hit in the United Kingdom, and as it holds on and continues selling, it helps Del Rey reach a huge milestone — one she's been working toward for years.
Del Rey dips slightly on the Official Albums chart this week, falling from No. 54 to No. 58. That's a minor drop for a title that has now spent 300 weeks on the tally. Born to Die becomes Del Rey's first project to reach 300 frames on the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K.
None of Del Rey's other collections have reached even 100 weeks on the same chart. Her second-longest-running release, Norman Fucking Rockwell , has spent just 33 frames somewhere on the tally — only about one-tenth of the time Born to Die has managed.
To put Born to Die 's longevity in perspective, Del Rey has sent eight other titles to the Official Albums Chart during her career. Combined, those projects have racked up 127 weeks on the list. That's less than half the amount of time her debut alone has spent on the tally.
Of its 300 weeks on the Official Albums chart, Born to Die earned 15 frames inside the top 10. Nearly all of those came in a row when the full-length was brand new. Its first two turns were at No. 1. Although it has only managed those two stints leading the ranking, it has collected more than 100 stays inside the top 40.
As it reaches 300 weeks on the Official Albums chart, Born to Die is also present on two other rankings in the U.K. that show it has true lasting appeal. It rises two spots to No. 59 on the Official Albums Streaming roster. At the same time, it drops 20 positions to No. 57 on the Official Albums Sales tally.
