Top 5 music genres we want in GTA 6's radio stations

Source: Rockstar Games One of the most memorable aspects of any GTA game is its radio stations. Whether you're driving down the highway or crawling through traffic after a botched mission, the music makes all the difference. With GTA 6 being based in a Miami-style environment, there's huge potential for a killer soundtrack. Here are five genres of music we would love Rockstar to feature to make those drives even more memorable. 1. Latin trap and reggaeton Source: Rockstar Games With the game's Vice City-era setting, including Latin trap and reggaeton is close to a no-brainer. Artists such as Bad Bunny, Anuel AA, and Karol G top worldwide charts and would be a natural fit for a colorful, tropical crime world. The catchy beats and street-oriented lyrics could add high-energy shine to all getaways and nightclub settings. 2. Synthwave and vaporwave Source: Rockstar Games Nothing is more Miami aesthetic than retro-futuristic synths. Synthwave and vaporwave might elevate night drives through neon streets, bringing that '80s feel with a contemporary spin. Imagine Kavinsky, The Midnight, or even an original score à la Drive. This genre would directly tap into Vice City's heritage but infused with a new sheen. 3. Drill and UK grime Source: Rockstar Games While GTA has traditionally gone for American hip-hop, incorporating drill and grime would add to the sonic options. With raucous beats and uncut lyrical intensity, Central Cee, Headie One, and Unknown T could introduce a gritty international sound. These songs would be ideal for high-tension missions and gang-dominated storylines. 4. Lo-fi hip-hop Source: Rockstar Games A lo-fi station would be a nice chill-out feature, particularly after missionless mayhem. It doesn't sound like GTA's thing at first glance, but the soothing tones and instrumental nature of lo-fi could work well as a "down time" ambiance. Additionally, it'd be a fan favorite among those seeking something atmospheric for discovery or nocturnal strolls. 5. Florida-based indie and alternative rock Source: Rockstar Games Because Vice City is a fictionalized Florida, why not party local indie rock scenes? Bands that take cues from surf rock, garage, or dreamy alt-pop (Surfer Blood, SALES, or even The Drums come to mind) would be a nice addition. This genre would work for lighter missions, cruising the beachside roads, or character-driven cutscenes. From club bangers to retro waves and relaxed beats, GTA 6 can present its richest radio offering to date. A varied musical selection not only will be a better fit for the game's environment but also enhance immersion, every drive a cinematic experience.
