Two injured in alleged power surge explosion in Horley

National Highways warned the clean-up operation of the "large spillage" will be "extensive and complex" and the road will now need to be resurfaced. 'The road will be closed through morning peak period,' the agency added. Surrey Fire and Rescue service said: 'We're currently in attendance at a serious collision on the M25, between J5 and 6, Godstone to Sevenoaks. 'The road has been closed and is likely to be for some time, which will affect rush hour traffic on surrounding roads. 'Please avoid the area and allow extra time for your journey. Thanks to our partners who are also in attendance.'

A fire service has issued a warning to the public saying there is a "heightened risk" of wildfires in the Fire & Rescue Service said those visiting the countryside this week could help to prevent wildfires.A spokesperson said: "This summer we are asking people to leave disposable barbecues at home, avoid setting up campfires on open areas and when you do take a picnic please take all of your litter home."The public were asked to call 999 to report a wildfire if they saw one, and not assume someone else had already called it in.
