KGMU eyes record with Yoga Mudra
Lucknow: KGMU will mark the occasion with a mass "Surya Namaskar Yoga Mudra" session at Sardar Patel Ground, starting 6am. The event aims to set a world record through synchronized participation across institutions at 7am, following directives from the Governor Anandiben Patel. KGMU vice chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand has instructed all faculty members, staff and students to take part in the event. Balrampur Hospital will also organise a special session from 6:30am to 7:30am at its new OPD building. Similar events will also take place at district hospitals such as Lokbandhu, BRD and SPM Civil Hospital. Supporting the widespread observance, upper nagar ayukta Lalit Kumar said around 300 parks under LMC will host yoga activities. TNN

CM to lead Yoga Day event at Gorakhnath Temple
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lead a mass yoga session at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur on Friday morning to mark the 11th International Yoga Day . The session, scheduled to begin at 6am, is expected to witness the participation of nearly 1,500 people, including public representatives and citizens. Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan and jal shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh will also be present at the event. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will lead a yoga session in Prayagraj while Dy CM Brajesh Pathak will participate in a similar event at the Residency in Lucknow. Several cabinet ministers will lead yoga events across districts. As part of its efforts to promote yoga as a daily health practice, the state govt has developed more than 100 Yoga Parks across urban areas. Built according to the Ministry of Ayush's standards, the parks reflect this year's International Yoga Day theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." "These parks will serve as permanent wellness spaces where citizens can engage in yoga and health-promoting activities regularly," said Amrit Abhijat, principal secretary, urban development. In Varanasi, yoga sessions will be held at Shaheed Udyan, Beniya Bagh Park, Harishchandra Park, Namo Ghat, Assi Ghat and Ravidas Ghat. Lucknow has nine parks, including Gulab Park, Swarn Jayanti Park, Jhande Wala Park and ED Park. In Kanpur, Nana Rao Park, Buddha Park, Sanjay Van and Parshuram Vatika are among the key sites. District magistrates, municipal commissioners, and the directorate of local bodies have been instructed to ensure that all parks have clean drinking water, adequate seating and designated spaces for yoga training.
