"As part of my work, I am required to spread awareness among slum dwellers about the importance of education. I've been doing this for the past few years, and my colleagues, as well as my children, encouraged me to continue my own studies," Kotle said.
"I thought about it and decided to pursue my education as an external student. My husband, who drives an autorickshaw, also supported me," she added.
"My son, Harshavardhan, who is in Std VIII, and my daughter, Aradhya, a Std VI student, took it upon themselves to teach me. They helped me with English, especially grammar, and mathematics. I studied after finishing work at the NGO and completing my household chores. I managed to study between 5am and 6am daily, and again between 11pm and midnight," Kotle shared.
