Shoppers race to Morrisons for ‘crazy cleaning clearance' with prices slashed from £6 to just 22p
WE all absolutely adore a good bargain, don't we? Especially when it comes to those everyday essentials like cleaning products. 3 Let's face it, with the amount we use them daily – from keeping our homes sparkling to ensuring our clothes smell fresh – the costs can really start to pile up. It's one of those necessary expenses that can sometimes feel like it's never-ending. That's why it's such a treat when we stumble across an amazing deal. It means you get to keep your home smelling divine and your clothes looking spotless, all while saving a few quid – what's not to love? Well, right now, shoppers are in a bit of a frenzy over Morrisons' 'crazy cleaning clearance sale', and it's easy to see why. They're slashing prices in a big way, with some products that were originally priced at £6 now going for just 22p. It's no wonder people are racing to their nearest store to grab these incredible deals before they're gone. Taking to her TikTok page ' graceforell ' The Sustainable Spender, Grace revealed that her local Morrisons, in Weybridge, currently has a 'crazy cleaning clearance sale' with 96 per cent reductions. She shared a video of her discovering the Comfort Scent Booster Elixir First Blooms which provides 20 washes. Despite not being a 'particular fan of scent boosters' she told her followers that it's worth checking their local Morrisons if they often buy them. Savvy parents race to their local supermarket as they spot branded sports bargains for just £7 in the clothing section After just four hours of being shared, Grace's video gained 74.1K views with many people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts. One wrote: 'Had these for 90 odd pence in farm foods this week.' A second added: 'Can't believe this price.' To which Grace replied: 'I couldn't either! Though I must be seeing things.' 3 3 Laundry tips Catherine Green, sustainable cleaning expert at smol shared her laundry tips. How often should you be remaking your bed? When it comes to your bed, maintaining a hygienic sleep setup can actually improve your sleep quality, helping you start every day better. Most people shed 500 million skin cells per day and a lot of that ends up in bed for dust mites to feed on. And those with asthma or allergies might see symptoms worsen by sleeping on dirty sheets! You want to be washing your sheets once a week - or every 10 days if you don't suffer from allergies and wear nightclothes. Bedding builds up with sweat, skin cells and oils quickly, even if it doesn't look dirty. Using an effective detergent like smol's will still give you a great clean on a 20°C cycle - that's better for the planet and your energy bills! What temperature do smol recommend then? For your regular weekly washes I recommend washing most loads at 20°C for 30 minutes. It's gentler on fabrics, slashes energy use, and still delivers excellent stain removal with the right detergent. A colder wash can actually be more effective if you opt for a bio detergent as its enzymes need cooler water; too hot and they lose their ability to digest stains. A wash at 60°c (unless you have silk sheets) every now and again can help kill off dust mites and other nasties. What's the difference between bio and non-bio detergent? Bio detergents contain enzymes, which are especially good at breaking down tough stains like food, grass, or sweat. It's best used in mid to low temperature washes (ideally between 20-40°C) as anything hotter can cause them not to work effectively. Non-bio skips the enzymes, which in turn makes it more suitable for those with sensitive skin or allergies. Although non-bio doesn't contain enzymes, it's still great at removing stains and keeping your clothes clean, you just may need to use a slightly higher temperature setting to aid with the cleaning process.

Mum buys eight potted basils from different supermarkets to see which lasted the longest – the winner leaves her stunned
EVER bought a pot of basil from the supermarket only for it to die before you have finished using it? A savvy shopper left frustrated with it happening decided to put different shops to the test to see which basil plant lasts the longest - and the results may surprise you. 9 Grace Forell, also known as The Sustainable Spender, compared eight potted basil plants from Morrisons, M&S, Waitrose, Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's, and Tesco. She put them head to head to see which stayed the freshest and which ones deteriorated the most over one week. On her @graceforell account, she documented the process and explained: 'Some supermarkets only had one size; when they had two I went for the smallest to keep it as consistent as possible. 'Every plant had their sleeve removed, and was placed on identical saucers in my kitchen. 'I rotated them every day to make sure they got a fair share of sunlight and I watered them sparingly from the bottom as per their instructions. 'The light was pretty consistent, but I moved them around each day to keep it as fair as possible.' First up was Sainsbury's, which didn't impress Grace as it had 'rotting dead leaves from day one.' Next up was Morrisons, and she said it was a 'similar story', 'despite it being one of the more expensive pots at £1.50.' She added: 'Also, it only has a one-day freshness guarantee online, which includes the day of delivery.' Grace, who has previously shared her sustainable tips on ITV's This Morning, shared how the 'saddest of the bunch' was Lidl's, which was the smallest, and also the joint cheapest basil plant with Aldi's. Gardening hacks to grow fruit from your weekly shop She added: 'It was sparse and virtually keeling over, but it did only cost 79p.' Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, she was impressed with Waitrose and Tesco, which were both 'large and luscious.' Grace wasn't entirely shocked at this, given Waitrose's was the most expensive at £1.70. But which was the best? 9 Winning basil Surprisingly, the Asda basil plant, which cost just £1, was the best of the brunch. She said: 'The winner was Asda. 'Look how perfect it is! 'And at only £1 it was one of the cheapest plants as well, proving that brilliant basil doesn't have to be expensive.' 9 Grace shared how her official ranking (from best to worst) was Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi, M&S, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, and finally Lidl being her least favourite. She added: 'Did these results surprise you?' People were quick to comment on her clip, with one saying: 'My Lidl basil was awful!' Another added: 'I got basil from Sainsbury's, split them up, planted them in individual pots. I still have them and doing well a year later.' Previously, Grace tested £1 daffodils from 8 different supermarkets to see how they lasted. What is the UK's cheapest supermarket? WE'RE all looking for ways to save on our supermarket shops. But which store should you go to if you're on a strict budget? According to Which?, who compare thousands of prices at the top eight UK supermarkets - Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose - every month, there's one place that outweighs the rest in terms of being budget-friendly. In April 2024, Aldi was at the top of the list, with Which? comparing 67 popular groceries costing an average of £112.90. Lidl isn't far behind, at £115.23, followed by Asda in third place with a bill of £126.98. Tesco was next, at £128.17, while Sainsbury's rounded out the top five with £131.02.
