Foundation stone laid for Venkateshwara temple
Belagavi: Transport minister Ramalinga Reddy, law & parliamentary affairs minister HK Patil, and women & child welfare minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, jointly laid the foundation stone on Friday for the construction of three major religious and community projects of Reddy community in new projects include the Venkateshwara temple, to be built at a cost of Rs 12 crore, the Hemareddy Mallamma Meditation Centre at Rs 5 crore, and the Balaji Kalyana Mantapa estimated at Rs 3 crore.
The ceremony was held at KK Kopp hill station, located opposite the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi. Vemanananda Swamiji of the Reddy Gurupeetha, Erehosalli (Harihar), who graced the event, expressed joy over the temple project. "A 'Little Tirupati' is coming up in Belagavi, which is a matter of great pride. The construction must be completed on schedule," he said. Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi announced a contribution of Rs 25 lakh from the MPLADS fund and an additional Rs 1 lakh from his personal resources for the temple's construction.
