Radio DJ announces he's quitting show and his last show is on Friday
BRIAN Dowling has announced he is leaving his radio show after over two years – with his last day coming on Friday. The former Big Brother star has been hosting The 6 O'Clock Show on Ireland's 98FM since 2023, joining Suzanne Kane. 6 6 Kane had been part of the team since 2021, taking over from Dublin Talks with Adrian Kennedy and Jeremy Dixon. Now both have announced they will be leaving the 98FM show, posting separate lengthy and heartfelt goodbyes on Instagram. Brian shared pictures from their office as he wrote: 'I made the decision earlier in the year that I would not be continuing co-hosting on Brian Dowling & Suzanne Kane on @98fmdublin making this Friday June 6th my very last show on Brian Dowling & Suzanne Kane.' Paying tribute to his co-host and his children, he continued: 'When I joined Suzanne back in March of 2023, I had ZERO radio hosting skills. Blake 🩷 was only 6 months old & baby Blu was only a twinkle in our eyes 🩵 'It took me a minute to get into my new groove, but when I did, WOW, I honestly have had the best time & have genuinely laughed every day; even on those bad days, being part of this show ALWAYS puts a smile on my face.' 'Here we are now 2 years & 3 months later & I'm still laughing & smiling. I have learned so much about an industry I've been in for nearly 24 years, presenting mainly television shows but now my love for radio easily equals my love for telly.' Sending 'a massive heartfelt thank you' to his team, Brian said: 'It has never ever felt like work; I mean, how could it when I'm playing the likes of Britney, S Club & JLO, to name but a few 😂 "I am so looking forward to a slower Summer; I'm not actually sure if I can operate on a slower pace 😜 " 'Normality will continue on Six and of course, shooting the rest of The Salvage Squad this summer, as well as some trips away I've planned; in fact, it's turning out to be a very memorable Summer 😍' Suzanne later wrote a message of her own, calling it 'a little life update' and confirming she was leaving her 10am to 1pm slot. ‘I didn't realise how hard it is' admits 98FM star as she opens up on ‘no regret' decision behind mobile home purchase
98FM star Suzanne Kane has opened up about her "heavenly" decision to purchase a mobile home for her family. The popular radio star frequently co-hosts a weekday morning show on 98FM from 10am to 1pm. The happy couple recently purchased a mobile home for their family, in the same caravan park her husband spent his summers growing up. Their new mobile home is located in Clogga Caravan park in Arklow, Co She spoke to RSVP about her decision behind purchasing the plot, explaining: "I work full-time and there is something so unbelievable about throwing the kids in the car on a Friday afternoon and driving 50 minutes down the road. My little girl, who was seven at the time and had made some friends very briefly the summer before, ran down and they all hugged on the deck. "They were gone, off they went and played. It's the epitome of a safe childhood because they can't go anywhere and everybody on the site looks out for them." And although the benefits of owning a holiday home are plentiful, Suzanne's experience in purchasing the plot differed greatly from her expectations. She said: "I didn't realise how hard it is to buy a holiday home in a mobile home park. I thought you just rang and went, 'Hi, can I have a mobile?' But no, that's not how it works'.
