The Collector received the award from Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply Konidela Pawan Kalyan at a function held in Mangalagiri. According to officials, Swacch Andhra programme was taken out in all the panchayats as part of Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus and all the villages were made as ODF Plus model villages. The government announced the award for the Collector on Wednesday.
