Mizoram end Swami Vivekananda Men's U20 NFC Group D with perfect record
Narainpur (Chhattisgarh), [India], May 21 (ANI): Mizoram defeated Jharkhand 3-1 on their last Group D matchday in the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's National Football Championship at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground on Tuesday. In the other match, Maharashtra defeated Tripura 2-0, as per the official website of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The side from the north-east, who had already qualified for the quarter-finals before their last group stage match, remained unbeaten and end with 12 points in Group D. They are followed by Maharashtra with nine, Tripura with six, Jharkhand with three, and Himachal Pradesh with none. Mizoram started with an early lead in their 3-1 win against Jharkhand, as PC Pazawna scored from inside the box in the 4th minute. John Lalrinawma doubled the lead for his side with a header from a corner in the 11th minute, followed by Ngurthanmawia's right-footed strike in the 87th minute. Birbal Mohli, in the 38th minute, scored the only goal for Jharkhand from a defensive error as the Mizoram defender gave away the ball right outside the box. In the other game, a closely-contested battle and a goal-less first half, Kshitij Maral opened the scoring for Maharashtra in the 62nd minute as he took a right-footed shot from inside the box followed by Eashan Sartape in the 94th minute as he took a sleek touch beating the last defender and sent the ball through the keepers legs to double the lead. Punjab qualified for the quarter-finals of the Swami Vivekananda Men's U20 NFC after defeating Ladakh 8-1 in their Group C match at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground on Monday. Needing three points to secure the top spot and a place in the quarter-finals, Punjab went on to complete a demolition job over Ladakh, after the latter had the lead, albeit for a brief period, early on in the game. Punjab led 3-1 at half-time. Imran Ali's eighth-minute goal for Ladakh was cancelled out just about 60 seconds later by Punjab's Gaurav Singh, who smashed in a rebound. Harmandeep Singh, in the 25th minute, poked a bouncing ball over the Ladakh goalkeeper's head to help Punjab put one foot in the knockout rounds. Gurmeet Singh doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, when he skipped past the keeper and slid it into the goal. Punjab were well and truly in the driver's seat, and they continued their dominance in the second half. Arun Kumar Chandla struck two in close proximity in the 68th and 69th minutes, before Damandeep Kumar netted the sixth in the 79th. Chandla completed his hat-trick in the 85th, and Arshvir Singh added the final nail in the coffin in injury time (90+2'). Punjab thus finished top of Group C with nine points. They will face Mizoram in the quarter-final on Friday. (ANI)

Victorious starts for Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh in Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's NFC
Narayanpur(Chhattisgarh) [India] May 11 (ANI): Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh made winning starts to their Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's National Football Championship campaign in Group C at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground on Sunday, May 11, 2025, as per a release from the All India Football Federation. Sikkim beat Ladakh 3-1 before Uttar Pradesh edged past Punjab 1-0. Manipur, who will play their first match on Tuesday, are the other team in the five-team Group C. Only the group winner will progress to the quarter-final. Ladakh 1 (Imran Ali Khan 45+4')lost toSikkim 3 (Jigmet Nurboo 19' og, Deepjay Sharma 66', Choden Lepcha 76') The scores were level at the break as Sikkim's lead via Jigmet Nurboo's 19th-minute own goal was cancelled out by Imran Ali Khan at the stroke of half-time. But Sikkim overpowered the union territory side in the second half as goals by Deepjay Sharma in the 66th minute and Choden Lepcha in the 76th secured a convincing win. Uttar Pradesh 1 (Pravesh Kumar 69')beatPunjab 0 After a goalless first half, Pravesh Kumar broke the deadlock in the 69th minute, which proved enough for Uttar Pradesh to notch all three points. A total of 36 teams were split into eight groups (four groups with five teams each and four groups with four teams each). Delhi are the defending champions after winning the inaugural edition in May 2024 in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh. All the quarter-finalists of the 2024 tournament - Delhi, Karnataka, Manipur, Mizoram, West Bengal, Telangana, Kerala and Assam - were placed in Pot 1, while the remaining 28 participants were placed in Pot 2 before the draw. Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's NFC: Meghalaya hand Kerala first loss, secure QF berth
Narainpur (Chhattisgarh): Meghalaya booked their place in the quarterfinals of the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's National Football Championship after defeating Kerala 2-1 at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground here on Saturday. The side from the north-east secured the top spot in Group A with a game to spare. While they are locked on six points from two matches, Kerala are also on the same number of points but have played one game more. Banlamkupar Rynjah scored the opening goal to give Meghalaya the lead in the 27th minute. Rynjah ran onto a cutback from the left wing to side-foot the ball past the Kerala goalkeeper. Deibormame Tongper doubled Meghalaya's lead in the 68th minute, when he was quick to react to the keeper's error, to finish from a tight angle in an open post. Kerala did pull one back through a Mohammed Adhnan penalty in injury time, but the damage was already done by Meghalaya, who took home the three points and a spot in the quarterfinals. Meghalaya secured the qualification berth courtesy of a comfortable 4-0 victory against Rajasthan in their opening encounter. Meghalaya found their first goal of the game through Riborlang Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi. The second half was all about Deibormame Tongper, who scored his first courtesy of a classic tap-in, before lacing a powerful shot into the back of the net for his second. A 74th-minute penalty afforded the Meghalaya forward the opportunity to complete his hat-trick. Kerala, on the other hand, were handed their first loss after their promising start to the campaign. After thrashing Bihar 8-1 in their opening encounter, with both Muhammed Shadi and Sreehari Unnikrishnan grabbing a brace each, Mohammed Adhnan's brace alongside Alfas K E's 92nd-minute dagger earned them a 3-0 win over Rajasthan. Earlier, Karnataka began their Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's National Football Championship 2025 Group B campaign with a 2-0 victory against Gujarat. Tamil Nadu dominated hosts Chhattisgarh in a 4-0 win in the second match of the day, to climb to the top of the group.

Chhattisgarh, Gujarat open Group B of Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's NFC with victories
Narainpur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 28 (UNI) Hosts Chhattisgarh defeated Andaman & Nicobar 4-0 on the opening day of Group B of the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men's National Football Championship at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground, here on Monday. In the other match of Group B, Gujarat emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline against Tamil Nadu. Chhattisgarh and Gujarat occupy the top two positions in Group B, respectively, with three points each. The hosts are provisionally ahead by dint of a superior goal difference. While Tamil Nadu and Andaman & Nicobar have started with defeats, Karnataka are yet to play a game. Only the top team from the group will make it to the quarter-finals. In a dominant victory against Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh started off with an early lead in the 13th minute. Tushal Yadav scored in an open goal after confusion in the Andaman & Nicobar ranks. Shashikant Kumeti doubled the lead with a perfectly-weighed right-footed chip in the 25th minute. Yadav made it three in the 36th minute with a strike from inside the box, while Kumeti finished off the game as he coolly dodged past the goalkeeper in a one-on-one opportunity and scored in an empty net in the 73rd minute. In the second match of the day, Gujarat defeated Tamil Nadu after edging them in the first half. They took the lead early on through Jesse Kom's 10th minute strike. The Gujarat forward, lurking in the box, stole a loose ball and toe-poked it past the keeper to put his side in the lead. Nine minutes later, Gujarat skipper Kishan Singh's hopeful attempt from distance rattled the cross-bar, before falling to Ashish Rana, who nodded in the rebound. Leonardo Christy L pulled one back for Tamil Nadu in the 71st minute to make it a nervy ending for Gujarat, but the latter held on to the three points. UNI BM
