Reforms soon in twenty-point programme, says Chairman Lanka Dinakar

The Twenty-Point Implementation Programme will soon be renamed, says its Chairman Lanka Dinakar. Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Thursday, Mr. Dinakar said the Central and State governments had considered his proposal to rename the programme as 'PM Viksit Bharat Sadhana Soothralu' at the national level and 'Swarna Andhra Sadhana Soothralu' in the State. Underlining the need for reforms in line with the Viksit Bharat-2047 and Swarna Andhra-2047 goals, he said the existing reporting model, unchanged since 2006, continued to rely on outdated monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual formats. Mr. Dinakar said reforms were necessary to align with the Central schemes inspired by the NITI Aayog's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Mr. Dinakar said a committee had reviewed the implementation of Central and State schemes in 24 districts. It would complete the exercise in the remaining two districts by the end of May. A report titled 'Viksit Bharat Sadhana lo Swarna Andhra Bhagaswamyam' would soon be published, he added.
