Crews rescue 2 people, 2 dogs stranded in Potomac River in Montgomery County
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. () — Officials said two people and two dogs are safe after they were rescued from the Potomac River on Monday night.
Pete Piringer, with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said that just before 10:30 p.m. on May 19, a call came in for people lost on a paddle boat in the Potomac River.
During the search, officials used a helicopter while crews canvassed the water using Swift Water Boats.

About an hour later, Piringer said they located two paddlers and two dogs. He added that they were stranded on a paddle boat after they got lost in the river.
The group was relocated to the Seneca Creek boat landing, where they were brought to safety.
Officials noted that an additional two people were also located on the side of the Potomac River, in Virginia.
There were no reported injuries.
