Swiggy launches ‘Drops' for limited-edition dishes by top chefs
Food delivery platform Swiggy has introduced a new feature called 'Drops', offering customers access to exclusive, limited-edition dishes created by some of the country's leading chefs. How 'Drops' works Swiggy's partner restaurants develop recipes that are not part of their regular menus. Launch dates and times for each Drop are announced in advance on Swiggy's social media platforms. Interested customers can register and book slots on the Swiggy app. Once all slots are filled, a waitlist opens for additional users. Swiggy sends push notifications and WhatsApp reminders to users as the Drop time approaches. Orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis, reinforcing the exclusivity of the experience. Bolt, the 10-minute food delivery vertical by Swiggy is now available in more than 500 cities across India, less than six months after its launch in October last year, the food aggregator told exchanges on Friday. Backed by a network of over 45,000 restaurant partners, the service has seen strong traction across metros as well as Tier II and Tier III cities, Swiggy said in the filing. 'Bolt fits into the way people live today. You're hungry, you want something now, and you don't want to compromise. We built Bolt for that moment. Seeing it scale to 500 plus cities in just a few months has been incredible. And this is just the beginning,' said Rohit Kapoor, CEO, Swiggy Food Marketplace.
