Nashik city police diverts traffic to avoid congestion amid Eid-al-Adha celebrations

Nashik: Traffic diversions are being implemented in the city to prevent congestion on roads due to Eid-al-Adha celebrations today. The city police said, the diversion decision was taken as people from the Muslim community from all over Nashik city congregating at the Idgah Maidan along Trimbak Road to offer Namaz (Isamic prayer) on the occasion may cause traffic snarls. The traffic police announced that no vehicles will be allowed on the stretch from Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe statue to Swimming Pool Signal. Vehicles will also not be allowed on the stretch between Gadkari Chowk and Chandak Circle. The restriction will be in place from 7am to noon. Due to restrictions on these roads, Nashik city police have appealed to motorists to take a right from Trimbak Police Chowky and proceed through Thakre Galli, Shalimar, and Main Road to move elsewhere. Furthermore, motorists will move towards Mumbai Naka via Sandeep Hotel from Chandak Circle. The police will be barricading the road at Sarda Circle, Gadkari Chowk, Chandak Circle, St Francis High School point, Swimming Pool Signal, Modak Signal, Annabhau Sathe statue, Khadkali Signal, CBS Signal, Mela Stand in front of Taluka police station and Tilakwadi Signal. Senior police officers confirmed that those removed from the city for 15 days include regular offenders and individuals involved in cattle trafficking cases. In preparation for Eid-al-Adha or Bakrid, authorities had initiated already security arrangements across Nashik. Besides peace committee meetings, officials also emphasised monitoring social media activities and requested citizens to refrain from sharing messages that could offend religious sentiments.
