Fundraiser at Jersey Mikes in Longmeadow supports Be Like Kat charity

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A fundraiser is being held at Jersey Mikes in Longmeadow on Wednesday to support Be Like Kat, a charity founded by the family of a teenager from Longmeadow who was killed in a car accident back in 2022. 'Swish Night' grants wish to East Longmeadow boy Katarina Boskovic was a senior at Longmeadow High School and a member of the cross-country team, she passed away weeks before graduating. According to her obituary, she had been accepted to McGill University in Montreal, Canada where she was going to become a physician. Now, her family is raising money for local causes in her name. All sales, all day long at the Jersey Mikes location on Williams Street in Longmeadow will go to the Be Like Kat fund. $10M lottery prize won on ticket bought in Stoughton

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A $10 million prize has been claimed in the '$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks' instant ticket game. 'Swish Night' grants wish to East Longmeadow boy The winnings were claimed through the B&C Trust of Milton. Represented by Matthew Marcus, the trust received the prize as a one-time payment of $6,500,000 before taxes. This lottery ticket was purchased at Mobil on Sharon Street in Stoughton. The store will receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the grand prize ticket. ‘Swish Night' grants wish to East Longmeadow boy

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The Make-A-Wish foundation is granting life-changing wishes for kids across western Massachusetts. Max, a young hockey player from East Longmeadow, was granted his wish on Saturday with the help of the Springfield Thunderbirds. Bridget Moynahan recognized as JFK National Award Recipient 'We are thrilled to let you know that your wish to go to Lake Louise has been granted,' said Nathan Costa, President of the Springfield Thunderbirds over video at Swish Night. The community got together for Swish Night at the Longmeadow Country Club on Saturday evening. Those who attended got the chance to enjoy championship basketball and delicious food. Local sponsors and businesses also laid out a variety of raffle options for the silent auction. The 12th annual event is dedicated to helping local children with critical illnesses. 'We've granted more than 10,500 wishes for children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island,' said Kara Walker, Chief Marketing & Communication Officer, Massachusetts & Rhode Island. One member on the organizing committee was granted a wish back in 2011. 'When I look back on my battle with cancer, I look back and it's the number one positive thing out of my battle,' shared Colin Down, Former Wish Kid. In Western Massachusetts alone, there are 80 children waiting for their wish to be granted and Swish Night brings the community one step closer to help them experience a glimpse of hope.
