Bloomfield advances to second-straight state title game
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WROC) – The Bloomfield softball team is on its way to the state championship for the second year in a row, defeating Section IV's Deposit-Hancock 4-0 in the Class C semifinal.
Bloomfield struck early, as Ashlyn Wright punched two RBIs in the first inning with a hit to left field.
In the second, Sydney Falsone popped up to left and reached on an error, bringing another run across the plate to make it 3-0.
Wright locked it down on the mound, earning eight strikeouts as Bloomfield came away with the four-run victory.
Bloomfield advances to face Tuckahoe of Section I in the Class C championship on Saturday, June 14th at 10 a.m.
