Middletown Pride Fest unites LGBTQ+ community
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Middletown Pride Fest brought the LGBTQ+ community together for a day full of celebrations on Saturday.
The fest allowed the community to celebrate unity, diversity, and equality in honor of Pride month.
This event was part of an effort to ensure that the LGBTQ+ community has a space to feel welcomed, celebrated and empowered in the community.
According to Middletown Pride, the event organizers, the fest is one of the largest pride events in the city.
The festivities included a pride march, a rally, and concerts.
'It's a great place to go to feel like yourself and put on as much glitter and crazy outfits and feel like you have a home with all of these people,' said Sydney Yargeau, an attendee.
This annual event is known to bring in about 20,000 people, 130 vendors and 80 marching bands from all over, according to the organizers.
