SYR airport to offer free parking shuttle service

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Some big changes are coming to Syracuse's Hancock International Airport starting as early next month. 'Going into 2025, we are already ahead of where we thought we were going to be and a lot of that has to do with the growth in the community,' said Jason Terreri, executive director of Syracuse Regional Airport Authority. As a result, more people are taking to the skies, and parking their wheels before heading to their terminal. But getting there is no walk in the park. 'Last year we opened up a new economy lot and it was a pretty significant walk. We heard a lot from the community about the distance of the walk,' said Terreri. But, you won't have to worry about that long walk for long. Come February, travelers can park their car and hop on the shuttle, taking them to the front doors of Syracuse Hancock. 'Those shuttles will run 24/7 and that will start in February. It will serve all of the out lots, the surface lots, as well as our employee lot,' said Terreri. The new parking shuttle service is free and will be round-trip. There will be a total of four shuttles available for passengers, each with enough space for their luggage and other belongings. 'We're in growth mode and it's an exciting time to be at the airport,' said Terreri. The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority is also building a second parking lot. The lot is expected to open this summer. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
