Hansi Flick takes aim at referee after Barcelona's UCL elimination
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has made clear his feelings with referee Szymon Marciniak, on the back of his side's exit from the Champions League. Barcelona were of course back in action on Tuesday evening. Advertisement With a spot in the finale of the Champions League on the line, the Blaugrana made the trip to Italy, for a semi-final 2nd-leg showdown with Inter Milan. When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, however, the evening's visitors saw their efforts come up short. This came after a late Francesco Acerbi strike sent proceedings to extra-time, allowing Davide Frattesi to notch the decisive goal in a seven-goal thriller. Post-match, on the Barcelona side of things, much of the focus has been on the officiating, amid anger on the part of the Blaugrana's supporters with the job done by referee Szymon Marciniak at San Siro. Advertisement And as alluded to above, joining such fans in making his disappointment with the level of officiating on show in Milan clear was none other than Hansi Flick. Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle on Tuesday, Barca's headmaster vented: 'Every 50/50 decision that the ref had, he called it in Inter's favor. This makes me sad.' ‘Uefa should look into it' – Watch Barcelona star get bundled over three times in FOUR SECONDS as he demands ref probe
PEDRI has urged Uefa to investigate the referee for his performance as Barcelona were dumped out of the Champions League. The Spanish giants were knocked out of Europe's premier competition by Inter Milan in a thrilling semi-final tie. 5 5 Inter won the tie 7-6 on aggregate following a 4-3 win at the San Siro in the second leg on Tuesday night. After the match, Pedri let out his frustration at the performance from referee Szymon Marciniak. He claimed that the referee gave every split decision to the hosts. The midfielder claimed: "It's not the first time this happens to us with this referee, Uefa should look into it. "Every 50-50 for them. There are things that I don't understand and which are hard to explain." One moment of the game that left Pedri red-faced was multiple pushes from Acerbi. A video taken from the stands shows the defender pushing the midfielder to the ground three times in FOUR SECONDS. Marciniak awarded Inter a penalty after he was called to the screen by VAR for a foul by Pau Cubarsí on Lautaro Martinez. Inter Milan hero Frattesi drops F-bomb live on TV after win over Barcelona leaving CBS Sports studio in hysterics 5 Barcelona also believed they should have been awarded a free-kick for a foul on Gerard Martín in the build-up to Acerbi's goal. Marciniak had awarded the LaLiga giants a penalty for a foul on Lamine Yamal before VAR intervened. The Polish official was also in charge when Inter drew 3-3 with Barcelona in the Group Stage of the 2022 edition of the tournament. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick echoed Pedri's complaints in his post-match press conference. He said: "I don't want to talk too much about the referee, but every decision that was 50-50 went (Inter's) way. "I am disappointed, but not with my team. They tried everything. It's the way it is. We are out, but next year we will try again to make the fans happy. "It makes me sad. My team did an excellent job. "I don't like talking about the referee, I've told him what I think, but I'm not going to say it here what I've said." 5

WATCH: Distraught Frenkie de Jong reacts to Inter defeat – ‘An empty feeling'
Barcelona saw their dreams of the Champions League disintegrate in heartbreaking fashion in Milan. Having mounted an impressive comeback to go 3-2 ahead at the Giuseppe Meazza, Inter scored twice after the 90th minute to send the Blaugrana back to the Catalan capital empty-handed. Much of the conversation in Spain after the match was about the officiating, with no fewer than four Barcelona players upset with Szymon Marciniak. Hansi Flick was also baffled by some of his decisions, but noted that he was proud of his team, and said that his side would be 'fine by Thursday'. Disappointment amongst the Barcelona camp Left-back Gerard Martin was seen in floods of tears after the final whistle, and the waterworks were in action for both Fermin Lopez and Raphinha too. However perhaps the image of their sadness was Frenkie de Jong, as he spoke to CBS Sports. Advertisement 'It's just disappointment, a bit of an empty feeling. Just that.' 'I think we made a good comeback, like we have done many times this season. Then to concede like two minutes from time, like they did, and then they score again in extra time. It's difficult to take.' 'We dominated' – Frenkie de Jong De Jong was also asked about Flick's half-time team talk, and noted that the German manager made little in the way of changes. 'We just had to keep playing the way we played. I think in the first half also, we played well. Maybe we didn't score, but we played better than them. They are also very good at what they do. All the credit to them also. We just had to keep playing the way we did. We did that, we came back, we got in front, and then to concede in the last minute of added time, I don't know if it was the last minute, but it feels really bitter.' Image via Imago The Dutchman also confirmed that he would not be watching the game back, nor would be dreaming about it either. Advertisement 'No, in general, I don't watch the whole game back. Only my moments, and sometimes the highlights. But I think it will be too difficult.' 'I think I will not dream about this game anymore. Maybe about the future. It's just difficult to take.'
