Brazil Activates Microsoft's AI Strategy with Local Use Cases

SíO PAULO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Major Brazilian enterprises are demonstrating significant uses of core Microsoft AI technologies, signaling rapid adoption to come, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm. Microsoft is moving AI into the future, from speculation to practical applications. Companies and ecosystem partners in Brazil are helping to turn this vision into reality. The 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ Microsoft AI and Cloud Ecosystem report for Brazil finds the country is well positioned to embrace the company's AI strategy through its Copilot, Copilot Devices and AI stack components. Microsoft has a strong presence and a mature ecosystem of partners in Brazil, complemented by a robust national IT infrastructure. 'Microsoft is moving AI into the future, from speculation to practical applications,' said Bill Huber, partner, digital platforms and solutions, for ISG. 'Companies and ecosystem partners in Brazil are helping to turn this vision into reality.' Brazil is benefiting from Microsoft's global strategy of investing in emerging markets, with the company recently expanding its data centers in the country, the report says. Brazil's rapidly growing technology sector and economic importance in Latin America make it a likely site for significant AI initiatives. Building on lessons from Microsoft initiatives in developing countries such as India, there is strong AI potential in sectors including agribusiness, financial services and health care. ISG expects increasing adoption of AI-based solutions in Brazil by large enterprises and technologically advanced sectors in the near term, followed by midsize companies using Copilot tools in the medium term and possibly a transformation of Brazilian business in the long term. Organizations in Brazil are expected to use Copilot's capabilities as a universal AI interface to make significant business impacts through linguistic and cultural adaptation, ISG says. By using Copilot to perform natural-language processing in Brazilian Portuguese and understand unique cultural contexts, companies may change the way users interact with technology and gain significant competitive advantage. Some large enterprises are already using Copilot to optimize processes specific to Brazil, including customer service, automated regulatory compliance and project management adapted to the local culture. In Brazil's tropical climate, some major companies have turned to Microsoft's local data centers for AI processing because they operate on renewable energy and use new cooling technologies, the report says. Microsoft's hybrid device strategy, supporting the use of PCs with built-in neural processing units (NPUs), is likely to prove important to AI use in Brazil, where Internet infrastructure is unevenly distributed. 'AI has significant potential to help enterprises thrive in Brazil's unique culture, infrastructure and regulatory environment,' said Jan Erik Aase, partner and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. 'Companies and service providers have already seized on Microsoft's AI strengths to realize that vision.' The report also examines other Microsoft-related trends in Brazil, including a fast-growing GitHub developer community and the increasing provider focus on vertical industry solutions. For more insights into enterprise challenges relevant to Microsoft services and solutions in Brazil, plus ISG's advice for addressing these, see the ISG Provider Lens™ Focal Points briefing here. The 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ Microsoft AI and Cloud Ecosystem report for Brazil evaluates the capabilities of 45 providers across six quadrants: Managed Services for Azure — Large Accounts, Managed Services for Azure — Midmarket, Microsoft 365 Services — Large Accounts, Microsoft 365 Services — Midmarket, Power Platform Services and AI Services for the Microsoft Clouds. The report names Brasoftware, Kumulus and TIVIT as Leaders in all six quadrants. It names SoftwareOne as a Leader in five quadrants and Accenture, Dedalus and Processor as Leaders in four quadrants each. It names Ingram Micro and Lattine as named Leaders in three quadrants each. CloudWalk Earns Fraud Prevention Certification from Brazil's National Confederation of Financial Institutions

SíO PAULO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CloudWalk, the financial technology company behind InfinitePay and has been awarded the Fraud Prevention Certification by the Brazilian National Confederation of Financial Institutions (CNF). The certification recognizes institutions that adopt best practices for detecting, preventing, and raising awareness around fraud — a proactive industry standard for ensuring operational integrity. CloudWalk's proprietary anti-fraud system merges machine learning with Large Language Model (LLM)-powered agents to flag suspicious activity, shut down organized digital crime, and block fraudulent account creation. In 2024 alone, it helped prevent an estimated R$15 billion in fraud. This 12-month CNF certification falls under the organization's 2025 initiative cycle. 'While fraud rings have started using AI to launch new attack strategies, we've built a defense system that's constantly evolving — able to analyze hundreds of millions of transactions autonomously,' said Alan Dias, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at CloudWalk. 'This certification celebrates our team's tireless work to protect the more than 4 million customers who rely on us.' How It Works CloudWalk's system monitors transactions 24/7, detects fraud in real time, and adapts to new threats. With an accuracy rate above 99%, the technology works with minimal human input. It not only spots fraud — it learns from each case, getting better over time at protecting customer and partner assets. 'It's an incredibly reliable system. Just 0.3% of fraud decisions require a second look from a human,' Dias added. According to CNF, this certification reinforces a company's commitment to user security and proves it meets key market standards and regulations. 'Certification shows a clear and proactive stance in protecting the financial market against fraud,' reads a statement on CNF's website. Recognition for AI Innovation CloudWalk's fraud-fighting AI has already won industry acclaim. In both 2023 and 2024, the company received awards in the digital security categories of the Mastercard Excellence Program. It also ranked in Silverguard's monthly list of the 'Top 10 Anti-Fraud Companies Fighting Fake and Fraudulent Accounts.' Thanks to these security investments, CloudWalk brand InfinitePay saw zero listings in the Brazilian Central Bank's financial sector complaints ranking in Q4 2024. These results reflect the company's ongoing focus on safe operations, outstanding service, and long-term customer success. CloudWalk has also launched a dedicated security webpage, centralizing digital safety information and tools to help customers protect themselves from fraud and scams.

Brazilian Enterprises Eye SAP Cloud Migration Challenges

SíO PAULO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A growing number of enterprises in Brazil are migrating to SAP S/4HANA and SAP's SuccessFactors human capital management platform as they integrate new technologies and navigate a complex and changing regulatory environment, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm. Brazilian SAP customers face a reckoning with the end of ECC support and the need to comply with new regulations and tax reforms. Service providers are integrating AI and automation to meet the needs of different types of organizations. Share The 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ SAP Ecosystem report for Brazil finds that the impending end of support for legacy systems is the central challenge for SAP customers in the country. Though SAP offers extended maintenance for ERP Central Component (ECC) until 2030, official technical support is set to end in 2027. Companies are carefully evaluating alternatives to ensure business continuity, regulatory compliance and operations modernization. These include migrating to SAP S/4HANA or adopting the RISE with SAP or GROW with SAP programs, which the company says are designed to streamline business operations. 'Brazilian SAP customers face a reckoning with the end of ECC support and the need to comply with new regulations and tax reforms,' said Bill Huber, partner, digital platforms and solutions, for ISG. 'Service providers are integrating AI and automation to meet the needs of different types of organizations.' Large enterprises in Brazil continue to resist the RISE model, preferring to preserve budgets for internal improvements and prepare for the impact of new tax laws, the report says. However, some are adopting GROW with SAP to streamline operations, especially following mergers and acquisitions. GROW combines several components for cloud transformation, including technology solutions and rapid implementation services, and is designed primarily for midsize businesses, ISG says. Some companies believe GROW lacks maturity, especially in its localization capabilities, but some service providers in Brazil report significant revenue from it, which may demonstrate that it meets a wide range of client needs when well executed, ISG says. The use of SAP managed application services in Brazil has declined with the emergence of new AI and automation technologies, the report says. Providers are expected to align their solutions with the new technologies, with the services evolving into a more agile and intelligent model that includes automation and real-time monitoring to cut costs and increase productivity. Interest in SAP SuccessFactors HXM has grown in Brazil as enterprises seek to customize recruitment, onboarding and performance evaluation through AI, ISG says. There is strong demand for solutions that enable compliance with Brazilian legislation on issues such as payroll administration, time management and taxes. 'Brazil's changing regulatory and tax landscape requires constant enterprise attention,' said Jan Erik Aase, partner and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. 'SAP users should partner with providers that remain up to date and agile to ensure continued compliance.' The report also examines other SAP ecosystem trends affecting enterprises in Brazil, including SAP's extensions to its Joule AI copilot and the continued importance of managed cloud services for SAP ERP. For more insights into the SAP-related challenges facing enterprises in Brazil, plus ISG's advice for addressing them, see the ISG Provider Lens™ Focal Points briefing here. The 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ SAP Ecosystem report for Brazil evaluates the capabilities of 45 providers across five quadrants: SAP S/4HANA System Transformation — Large Accounts, SAP S/4HANA System Transformation — Midmarket, SAP Application Managed Services, Managed Cloud Services for SAP ERP and SAP SuccessFactors HXM Partner Services. The report names Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Deloitte and T-Systems as Leaders in four quadrants each. It names NTT DATA and Wipro as Leaders in three quadrants each and Infosys, Softtek, Stefanini and Tech Mahindra as Leaders in two quadrants each. BCI Consulting, EPI-USE, Essence, Exed Consulting, HR Path, HRST, Kyndryl, Megawork, Meta, Numen, SEIDOR, Strada and TIVIT are named as Leaders in one quadrant each. In addition, Minsait is named as a Rising Star — a company with a 'promising portfolio' and 'high future potential' by ISG's definition — in two quadrants. Engine and SPS Group are named as Rising Stars in one quadrant each. Customized versions of the report are available from Megawork, Meta and NTT DATA. In the area of customer experience, Wipro is named the global ISG CX Star Performer for 2024 among SAP ecosystem providers.
