There's a new loyalty rewards programme between Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal

There's big news for frequent flyers – and if you're sitting on a stash of Etihad Guest Miles or racking up TAP Miles&Go points, you're going to want to pay attention. From now, Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal have officially launched a new frequent flyer partnership, letting you earn and redeem miles across both airlines. That's right – you can now jet from Abu Dhabi to Lisbon (or Lisbon to Abu Dhabi) and cash in on those hard-earned points no matter who you booked with. This is the latest step in the Etihad–TAP relationship, which began in 2023 with a codeshare deal designed to boost global connectivity. That move opened up more destinations across Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East – and now, the two flag carriers are taking things to the next level by integrating their loyalty programmes. Here's how it works: Etihad Guest members can now earn miles when flying with TAP Air Portugal and spend them on flights, hotel stays, shopping or holidays via the Etihad Guest Reward Shop. Meanwhile, TAP Miles&Go members can do the same on Etihad Airways, tapping into a network that includes emerging hotspots like Chiang Mai, Medan and Hong Kong.
