Partey has played in multiple positions for Arteta's injury-ridden side last term, despite a number of spells out on the sidelines himself.
As well as his usual defensive midfield role, Partey started in right-back amid injuries to Ben White and centre-back Gabriel, with Jurrien Timber moving about too.
Arsenal are reshuffling their midfield this summer, with a deal for Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi regarded as done.
