Time backed by strong demand for its services

PETALING JAYA: TIME Dotcom Bhd is favoured by analysts, backed by expectations of a sustained strong secular demand for its global and terrestrial bandwidth services, business expansion plans and the rising demand for cloud services from local enterprises. In its report to clients, Kenanga Research said it understood that the company is also one of the top two providers in Malaysia offering both submarine cable and terrestrial fibre connectivity to hyperscalers with data centres in the country and across the region. 'It supports critical traffic and redundancy requirements through its integrated infrastructure that includes stakes in international submarine cable systems. 'For instance, Time provides cross-border connectivity for 22 regional and global carriers, linking networks from South-East Asian countries to Malaysia, and extending to Singapore,' it told clients. The research house also noted that the company has secured several major enterprise projects that are projected to drive future earnings growth. A recent example includes a major contract to deliver connectivity solutions across 33 public university campuses, it said. Kenanga Research said competition in the domestic retail broadband market had stabilised as evident from Time's robust average revenue per user and net adds in the first quarter of financial year ending Dec 31, 2025.

Time Dotcom 1Q net profit rises to RM112.99mil

KUALA LUMPUR: TIME Dotcom Bhd recorded a higher net profit of RM112.99 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2025 (1Q 2025) from RM110.67 million in the same period last year. Revenue rose by 2.6 per cent to RM428.59 million from RM417.77 million previously, supported by sustained demand for data and connectivity solutions and driven by the retail segment, it said in a Bursa Malaysia filing. "Profit remained steady, reflecting reduced contributions from investment and interest income, along with net foreign exchange losses, in contrast to gains in the same period last year,' it said. On prospects, the telecommunications service provider said it remains committed to the long-term growth of its connectivity business by expanding network coverage, leveraging its execution track record, and implementing effective go-to-market strategies to deliver innovative products, solutions and services to customers. "The group is also committed to driving sustainability practices across its operations and expanding its new renewable energy businesses in response to evolving market opportunities,' Time Dotcom said. Meanwhile, in a separate statement, its commander-in-chief, Afzal Abdul Rahim, said while the industry continues to evolve, the group remains focused on what matters most -- delivering reliable services, enhancing customer experience, and strengthening its core capabilities. - Bernama
