I was a victim of the spike piledriver, the deadliest move in professional wrestling. It was from one of the greatest tag teams of all time, the Young Bucks. They are the Executive Vice Presidents of the company, along with Kenny Omega. And they were trying to make a power play. I'm the President, they wanted to control the business, so they put me down. Daniel Garcia Explains What Being TNT Champion Means To Him

Ahead of his TNT Title defense tonight against Adam Cole on AEW Collision, Daniel Garcia reflects on his run as champion so far. All Elite Wrestling's Daniel Garcia was a recent guest on In The Kliq. When asked what being TNT Champion means to him, Garcia said it means you're the face of the network and believes it's the original workhorse title of the company. 'I mean being TNT Champion is special because you're literally the face of the network,' Daniel Garcia said. 'You're the face of TNT that AEW Collision is on every single week. It's very important. You're really entrusted to be the face of a network. And to me, the TNT Championship is so important because that was the original workhorse title of AEW. 'That's Cody Rhodes' title. That's Brodie Lee's title. Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Samoa, Joe, Darby Allin. Like, all these great names have held this title, and then someone like Jack Perry, I think he got it and kind of halted the momentum of the title a little bit. 'He kind of turned it into like what he thought the TNT Title should be. And I think what he thinks the TNT Title should be is completely different than what it actually should be. So I'm doing my best to restore the prestige and bring the title back to the relevancy that it once had.' When asked about tonight's title defense against Adam Cole, Garcia said that announcement came as a surprise to him. 'That match was a shock to me,' Daniel Garcia admitted. 'Because obviously, they announced it on TV, I don't see that. I'm in the ring. I get to the back, and Tony's like, 'Hey, you're defending your title against Adam Cole this weekend.' I wasn't ready for that. Come on. I was very surprised. 'But Adam Cole, me and him, have some built up tension over the past couple weeks, I would say over the past, you know, four or five weeks, I think we're on a great run of Collisions, maybe our best run ever. I think a lot of that has to do with the tension that me and Adam Cole have built up. 'And whenever he's in the ring with me, I see the way he looks at me, you know I'm saying? Those eyes can only mean one or two things. Either he's got a crush on ole DG or he wants a shot at the TNT Title. So if he wants a shot at the TNT title, that's what he's gonna get.'
