."I
never thought I could achieve it. Being the first member in my family to study beyond Class 10 is an honour for me," Khushboo told family belongs to Madhya Pradesh but shifted to Noida when she was just a year old."My father came here in search of work. First, he started working on a construction site as a labourer. Later, he bought a rickshaw, and that was our only earning source," the teenager Khushboo's father could not afford her elder sister's studies.
"My sister also wanted to continue higher education, but she couldn't… I have a younger sister in Class 7 and my brother is in Class 5. I want both of them to pursue higher studies too," she teenager, who was taught by Amitasha – a foundation that helps underprivileged children complete their studies, has charted her path ahead. She will take up science stream for Class 11-12 and pursue business administration"After Class 12, I need to earn on my own to fund my higher studies. I am prepared now. I will have to join a job or hold tuition classes. I want to pursue a BBA, and then an MBA from a good college," she said, adding, "Some day, I want to open my own restaurant too."Not unlike Khushboo, another city resident Nisha Sharma has mapped out her daughter of a construction worker scored 90.4% in CBSE Class XII and said on Tuesday that she is now "focusing on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) to get entry into a good college".The humanities student has another dream."Once I get a job, I will build a house for my family. Currently, all seven of us -- my siblings, parents and grandparents -- we all stay in a one-room house in Sadarpur colony," she said.
