Triumph Speed T4 gets a striking Baja Orange makeover

Triumph Motorcycles has hit the sweet spot in the Indian market with its 400cc TR-series, and its success story continues with the launch of the Speed T4 in a bold new colour: Baja Orange. The new variant marks a visual refresh that stands out in the segment, drawing on Triumph's rich design legacy. Inspired by the glow of desert horizons and the ambience of golden-hour rides, Baja Orange is a shade previously seen on Triumph's larger motorcycles like the Street Triple 765 R and Scrambler 1200 XE. Speed T4 the first bike in this space to wear the hue. Since its launch in October 2024, the Speed T4 has shown strong performance, doubling its sales volume in just a few months. The TR-series has grown 30% year-on-year in FY25, underlining the rising demand for accessible, premium motorcycles in India. Triumph's success with this platform has placed it firmly at the second spot in the classic motorcycle segment — a notable achievement given the fierce competition and evolving customer expectations in this space. The Speed T4 is positioned as a modern classic, designed for riders who are either stepping into the world of performance biking or looking for something stylish yet easy to live with. At the heart of the bike is a 398cc engine that delivers 31 PS at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, with a strong low-end pull between 3,500 and 5,500 rpm. This makes it ideal for both city commutes and highway runs, with enough flexibility to keep newer riders confident and experienced riders engaged. The ride quality is enhanced by 43 mm telescopic forks, a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts, and dual-channel ABS for added safety — all features that contribute to its easy-going nature without compromising on fun. Feedback from riders and reviewers has been largely positive, particularly when it comes to the bike's handling. The chassis feels light and responsive, the riding position is neutral and comfortable, and the suspension strikes a good balance between firmness and comfort. Whether you are navigating traffic or heading out for a weekend ride, the Speed T4 feels composed and predictable, which is exactly what many riders are looking for at this price point. Visually, the Baja Orange variant gets a few subtle but impactful touches — such as, a brushed steel exhaust, a 3D Speed T4 badge, and matching tyre stripes. Combined with the updated frame colour, it gives the bike a more premium and cohesive look. The new colour joins existing options like Caspian Blue, Lava Red, and Phantom Black, offering buyers a wider range of aesthetic choices. The Speed T4 continues to be one of the most accessible ways into the Triumph brand. It delivers a slice of British heritage with modern-day practicality, making it a compelling option for anyone looking to upgrade to a bigger, better motorcycle without stretching their budget too far. It is this blend of style, performance, and affordability that has made Triumph's 400cc models resonate with Indian riders. The Baja Orange, priced at ₹2.05 lakh, may be new, but the Speed T4's appeal remains rooted in what has worked for Triumph so far: a motorcycle that is easy to ride, enjoyable to own, and proudly wears the legacy of a brand that understands what today's motorcyclist want.
