On Tuesday, June 4, 2025, TSN insider Chris Johnston spoke on TSN 1050. He said many teams are already preparing to go after Brad Marchand. Some teams, he added, may even offer him $8 million per season.
Marchand is currently with the Florida Panthers. But according to Johnston, the Panthers may not have enough cap space to keep him.
He explained that several other teams are 'willing to go high' to get the veteran forward.

Johnston said during the segment, 'There are a lot of teams interested in Marchand. Some of them are ready to offer $8 million a year. It'll be hard for the Panthers to match that.'
Marchand's contract situation has not been made public. But insiders believe he may hit the market if Florida cannot give a good offer. Marchand has had a strong season and could be one of the top free agents if he leaves.
