Grosse Pointe Garden Society Plants Seeds for Possible Season 2 as Fate Remains TBD — Read Recap

Did a bad seed just spoil the bunch on Grosse Pointe Garden Society? The NBC dramedy — which has yet to be renewed for a Season 2 — wrapped its freshman run on Friday with a twist: One of our gardeners has committed a surprising act of betrayal. The Chi Season 7 Premiere: Alicia Kills [Spoiler] in Vengeful Attack - But Did She Get the Right Man? Plus, Grade It! TVLine Asks: Would The Handmaid's Tale Weaponized Wedding Cake Have Worked on You? Early in the finale, Alice learns the truth about her dog's death (for real this time). It turns out, her mother-in-law Patty isn't responsible for the murder, as we previously thought in Episode 11. The dog killer is actually Marilyn, the garden club's president. And, like the other Grosse Pointe death, it wasn't totally on purpose. Marilyn had found her cat being attacked by another animal in the dark and shot her gun in the direction of the threat, accidentally killing Alice's furry friend. And once Alice learns the full truth, she gets a guilty conscience about all that has happened. She calls Brett, admitting there might be feelings between them, and then she does something that could change the course of the series: She heads to the police station. She says she's done something they should know about, and prepares to give a statement. As she sits down to presumably confess about her father-in-law's demise, Joel tries, but fails, to interrupt her. Meanwhile, the rest of the group finds Keith's body — which had been moved by Kenny — and relocates his corpse to the compost bin in the garden. The episode ends with one final time jump, and this time, a carved pumpkin signals the shift, reading: 'Next Season.' We see our three faithful gardeners — Birdie, Brett and Catherine — chastising someone for breaking their trust. The person's identity is concealed by a costume, but it seems like it's probably Alice. Then again, we didn't predict Quiche would be Keith, so the series could throw a curveball. After all, we don't know exactly what happened with Alice at the police station, and we aren't sure if 'that tweaker gas station guy' has said anything more about the night of the gala and that stolen bracelet. Is it actually Kenny? Could it be Joel? Gas station guy? It's anybody's guess! Did the finale successfully plant a seed for a second season? Grosse Pointe Garden Society Finally Reveals Who Died the Night of the Gala — And It's Not Who You Expected

The following contains spoilers from Episode 11 of NBC's . Much like wrapping a dead body in a blanket and burying it in the sand, Grosse Pointe Garden Society pulled the wool over our eyes when it came to concealing Quiche's identity. We didn't see that one coming! More from TVLine SNL Is Stuck in a Creative Rut in Its 50th Season - Can It Be Fixed? Grey's Recap: A Romantic Twist, a Devastating Turn and One Big Step Toward a New Couple Doctor Odyssey Just Aired Its Sexiest Episode Yet - And Delivered Another Pregnancy Twist In Episode 11, the shifting timelines finally converge as the night of the gala comes into clear focus. Amid the swanky Grosse Pointe soirée, Alice learns devastating news: It was, in fact, her mother-in-law Patty who killed her beloved dog. The gardener decides to exact her revenge by sabotaging Patty's newly prized possession, the handmade quilt purchased for thousands of dollars during the gala's auction. The whole gang kidnaps the blanket and takes it out to their gardening shed, where they realize revenge might be better served with an audience. So, Alice rage-texts Patty to come meet them, but her father-in-law Keith intercepts the message and arrives in Patty's place. Then, there's a dramatic — and hilarious — struggle, as the group fights Keith over the quilt as they try to feed it into a wood chipper. Amid much teetering and tottering, the gardeners fight off their foe, until finally the group successfully feeds part of the quilt into the rumbling machine. But Keith doesn't give up. He desperately tries to rescue his wife's new shiny toy. For a moment, it looks like he'll be sucked into the machine and chopped into a million little pieces, but then he lurches backward, clutching the quilt in his hands. Crisis averted, Keith is alive and the blanket is (partly) intact. But wait! As the gang stands in the shed, stunned by the struggle that just occurred, Keith suddenly collapses. Heart attack?! Stroke?! Aneurysm?! No. The camera pans over his back, revealing multiple deep puncture wounds. Upon pulling the blanket out, he had stumbled into a spiked garden tool hanging on the back wall, impaling himself. So there you have it: The dead body isn't Gary, Doug or Patty. It's Keith. Keith is Quiche, and he died sort of by accident. Did you see that one coming, or did the big reveal surprise you as much as us? Let us know your reactions in the comments!
