Operation Sindoor brings hope: Kin of IAF corporal killed in Pahalgam
Itanagar: The family of Indian Air Force (IAF) corporal Tage Hailyang from Arunachal Pradesh, who was among the 26 tourists killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, welcomed India's execution of Operation Sindoor on Wednesday. The family has found a renewed sense of courage after the armed forces' action, said Tage Adu, brother of Tage Hailyang. Indian armed forces conducted strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the early hours of Wednesday. 'Operation Sindoor brings hope, but our fight isn't over until all four of my brother's killers are brought to justice. We've been waiting for this day, but the pain remains raw. Until justice is complete, we will not find peace,' said Tage Adu, brother of Tage Hailyang. The family has found a renewed sense of courage after the armed forces' action, Adu added. Charo Kamhua Tage, wife of the Corporal who was with him during the attack, urged the Indian government to 'intensify its offensive against terrorism.' 'We have lost a brave son of the soil. My husband could have run for safety, but he chose to stay and help others escape — that's who he was as a soldier,' she said. Supporting Operation Sindoor, the retaliatory attacks by India on nine chosen terror sites in Pakistan, Charo Kamhua said, 'I fully support Operation Sindoor. The government must act decisively to dismantle all terror networks. No other family should have to endure the pain we are going through.' Operation Sindoor, launched in the early hours of Wednesday, targeted nine terror hubs including Jaish-e-Mohammad bases in Bahawalpur. Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday hailed Operation Sindoor. 'Operation Sindoor is not just a mission—it is India's values in action,' Khandu wrote on X. Meanwhile, mock drills were carried out in schools, district hospital, and markets across five towns --- Itanagar, Aalo, Hayuliang, Bomdila, and Tawang --- in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday as a part of a large-scale nationwide mock drill, codenamed 'Operation Abhyaas,' to 'assess preparedness for emerging and complex threats.'

From a village in Arunachal to a Visakhapatnam neighbourhood, echo from Pahalgam victims' kin: ‘Operation Sindoor means Justice'
In Arunachal Pradesh, family members of 30-year-old Corporal Tage Hailyang, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, thanked the Indian armed forces and the government for Operation Sindoor, while expressing hope that the security forces remain safe. 'We have been watching the news since the morning, and there is a sense of justice in knowing that there has been considerable damage done to terrorist groups operating there. We thank the Indian government and forces for this action. We want justice for all the families who lost their loved ones that day. We also hope that there will not be any losses to our forces in any action now by Pakistan,' said his younger brother Tage Lilang, while speaking to The Indian Express. Tage Hailyang, from Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Subansiri district, was a corporal in the Indian Air Force's Srinagar base and had joined the force in 2017. He married Charo Kamhua around a year ago and had just been transferred to Assam. He was on a holiday with her before joining the Air Force base at Dibrugarh when the Pahalgam attack occurred. Another brother of his, Tage Mali, serves in the Indian Army. Since the incident, their village of Tajang has been mourning the loss. Another brother of his, Tage Taka, said that Charo Kamhua is still in shock. 'He was killed in front of her eyes. We will be grieving this for a long time. We are seeing on TV that some action was taken in response to this, but we will get satisfaction when the main perpetrators who had carried out the attack that day are caught and brought to justice,' he said. In Visakhapatnam, the family of retired SBI employee J S Chandramouli also got some closure. 'Our armed forces did a great job. It provides some sense of justice. This operation was required,' said B Nageswara Rao, his brother-in-law. 'While we uphold peace and oppose violence in principle, inaction in the face of such heinous acts is not an option.' Chandramouli and his wife Naga Mani had gone on a vacation to Kashmir with two other senior citizen couples when the attack took place. They arrived in Jammu on April 18 and were supposed to return on April 26 after visiting several tourist destinations in Kashmir. Chandramouli was initially reported missing, but his bullet-riddled body was found later. He had celebrated his 68th birthday a week before going on vacation.
