Palestinian Politician Tahani Abu Daqqa: Everyone Inside Gaza Wants This War To End – Even Hamas Members; Anyone Who Says Otherwise Does Not Live In Gaza

Former Palestinian Minister of Youth and Sports Tahani Abu Daqqa said in a May 28, 2025 appearance on Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) that Hamas's weapons are not saving Palestinians. She said these weapons are stored in "sensitive places," and warned that if Palestinians continue with what she called "heroic bravado," they will lose Gaza and their entire society. Abu Daqqa said there are no other voices Gaza, and that anyone who claim otherwise "live outside of Gaza, abroad." Abu Daqqa, who left the Gaza Strip for Egypt during the war, said she has seen Hamas members and their families on Facebook calling for an end to the war. "They are begging for the war to end," she said. Abu Daqqa added that no rational human would agree to prolong the war while their children are dying of hunger. Tahani Abu Daqqa: "[Hamas's] weapons are not saving us. We are dying. These weapons are not saving us from hunger, and they are not saving us from the thieves who steal the food. These weapons have not saved us from anything. These weapons are located in sensitive places, and if we continue with our stubbornness, and continue with our heroic bravado, we will lose our entire society, we will lose Gaza. [...] "There are no [other] voices in Gaza. The people who say that the resistance should not surrender its weapons live outside of Gaza. They all live abroad, and their families and their children all have food and drink. I see on my Facebook page, families of Hamas members, and Hamas figures who are calling to stop the war. They are begging for the war to end. We need to stop lying to one another. The people in Gaza... Which one of us would agree to let his children die of hunger? What rational human being would agree to prolong the war, and have his children die of hunger? No rational human being would agree to that."

Gaza-Born Palestinian Politician Tahani Abu Daqqa on the Israel-Hamas War: This Is the First Time My Family Has Actually Been Displaced, Turned into Refugees – How Is This Victory? The Resistance Axis

Gaza-born Palestinian politician Tahani Abu Daqqa, who served as the Palestinian Authority's Minister of Youth & Sports in 2007-2009, said in a January 25, 2025 show on Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) that the Gaza war which broke out after the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led invasion and massacres in southern Israel is the first war against Israel in which her family has actually been displaced and turned into refugees. She said that this is the first time her house, her land, and her various development projects have been under the control of Israeli occupation, asking: "In what way is this victory?" She said that Hamas has shown its strength and has demonstrated that Israel is unable to easily rescue its hostages, but that this has ultimately led to slaughter. She said that the Gazans are being displaced, killed, and thrown in the streets, with their bodies being eaten by dogs. She added that moreover, the Iran-backed resistance axis consisting of Hizbullah, Bashar Al-Assad's Syria, and Hamas has collapsed entirely.
