Volkswagen is trying to increase sales of the Taigun and Virtus lineup in India. Therefore, it has now rolled out the May 2025 offers for the cars. Customers can now avail of discounts worth Rs 2 lakh on the Taigun and the Virtus under the monthly offer. Volkswagen Taigun: May 2025 Offers Volkswagen is currently offering discounts worth Rs 2 lakh on the Taigun. However, this discount is available only for the 1.5 DSG GT Line trim. Prospective customers can also avail of discounts worth Rs 1.45 lakh on the Taigun 1.0 GT Line trim. These offers include a Rs 20,000 scrappage bonus and more. Volkswagen Taigun Volkswagen Virtus: May 2025 Offers The brand has also extended offers for the Virtus lineup in the Indian market. Customers can now get discounts worth Rs 1.12 lakh on the Virtus Comfortline, bringing the price to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) which was originally priced at Rs 11.56 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus Chrome receives an offer worth Rs 1.9 lakh. The Volkswagen Virtus 1.0 GT Line and the Virtus 1.5 DSG GT Line receive May offers worth Rs 80,000 and Rs 1.3 lakh, respectively. While Volkswagen has announced discounts on the Virtus and Taigun, it is also gearing up to bring a new car to the national market. The Volkswagen Tayron has now been snapped testing in India and is likely to be unveiled by the year-end.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen recalls over 47,000 units to fix rear seatbelt
(You can now subscribe to our (You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is recalling over 47,000 units of various models, including Taigun, Virtus and Kushaq due to potential manufacturing defect with the rear seatbelt, according to industry body SIAM. The automaker is recalling 21,513 units of Taigun and Virtus manufactured between May 24, 2024 and April 1, 2025. Similarly, it is recalling 25,722 units of Kushaq, Slavia and Kylaq, SIAM said in a filing on its Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus manufactured during the period, the rear seatbelt buckle latch plate may break or the webbing of the rear centre seatbelt assembly along with buckle of rear right seatbelt may fail during frontal collision, it stated. This may pose a safety risk to passengers occupying rear seats, it cited same reason for the Skoda contacted, the company said: "As a part of the Group's commitment to customers, to maintain the highest standard of safety and quality, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is conducting a recall of the Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, Kylaq and Volkswagen Virtus & Taigun models (manufactured between May 24, 2024 to April 1, 2025), to address a potential seat belt concern.""Our authorised service centres are proactively reaching out to the customers to ensure swift and seamless resolution," it added.

Skoda, Volkswagen recalls 47,235 cars over rear seatbelt defect
Skoda and Volkswagen have announced a recall affecting 47,235 vehicles across their Skoda and Volkswagen model recall includes popular models such as the Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Volkswagen's Taigun and Virtus. All affected units were manufactured between May 24, 2024, and April 1, to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the issue lies in the rear seatbelt assembly. Though both automakers have not released an official statement yet, it is expected that Skoda and Volkswagen will reach out to customers directly. Volkswagen, the German auto manufacturer, is planning to recall models of the Virtus and the Taigun. The recall will be subjected to the models manufactured between 24th May 2024 to 1st April 2025. This decision is likely to affect 21,513 units of the vehicle. Volkswagen is taking up the recall as part of safety concerns in these models. Volkswagen recently identified a safety issue in the Taigun and Virtus. The models manufactured between 24th May 2024 to 1st April 2025 had a rear seat belt defect that may lead to inevitable injury to the rear passenger in case of a frontal collision. The rear seat buckle latch may break, leading to a big impact on the passengers. The decision to recall the Taigun and the Virtus is yet to be announced officially. The customers who got their hands on these models need to keep a check for the official notification. The Taigun is claimed to be one of the safest SUVs as the car secured a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test. It gets two engine options- a 1.0 L TSI and a 1.5 L TSI EVO engine. The SUV is available at a starting price of Rs 11.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Volkswagen claims the Virtus as India's best selling sedan and it also has a 5-star rating by Global NCAP. The Virtus borrows its engine from the Taigun SUV and has a 1.0 L TSI and a 1.5 L TSI EVO engine as options. The prices of the Volkswagen Virtus start at Rs 10.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
