TakaHisa partners with Hatta Honey in UAE Royal-Led sustainability initiative
Gulf Network On April 22nd, a signing ceremony was held at a traditional Majlis in the United Arab Emirates between H.H. Engr. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi and the renowned Japanese fine dining restaurant TakaHisa . The agreement formalized an exclusive partnership for the supply of locally produced honey from Hatta Honey—a leading brand owned and managed by the UAE royal family. This collaboration represents more than a sourcing agreement; it is a meaningful alliance rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a long-term vision for sustainability. While TakaHisa is widely known for importing premium ingredients directly from Japan, such as fresh fish from Toyosu Market and top-grade wagyu beef, the restaurant has also embraced the responsibility of playing an active role in shaping a sustainable future for its second home, the UAE. The partnership reflects TakaHisa's growing focus on environmental stewardship and supporting local production and consumption. As part of this initiative, 21 beehive boxes—a number chosen to represent TakaHisa's founding year of 2021—have been donated to the Hatta Honeybee Garden and Discovery Centre, alongside the planting of 100 trees to support pollination and ecological balance. These efforts are expected to yield approximately 875 kilograms of honey annually, which will be used exclusively in TakaHisa's culinary offerings, including desserts and seasonal creations.
