En-Nesyri in the Crosshairs as Fenerbahçe Eye Replacement
Youssef En-Nesyri might be Fenerbahçe's top scorer this season, but his future in Istanbul hangs by a thread.
The Moroccan striker, who has bagged 26 goals and seven assists in 47 appearances since joining from Sevilla for €19.5 million, is now at the heart of Fenerbahçe's transfer list, according to Takvim. The club is reportedly willing to part ways with the 27-year-old if a €30 million offer comes through, especially from keen Saudi clubs circling like vultures.
Jose Mourinho, however, isn't so quick to let go. Ahead of the crunch derby against Beşiktaş, the Fenerbahçe boss held a one-on-one meeting with En-Nesyri, reaffirming his faith in the forward. Mourinho, under fire after a turbulent 3-3 draw against Kayserispor, is banking on his trusted No.9 to deliver once again.
But the board has other plans. With veteran Edin Džeko set to exit at season's end and Dušan Vlahović at the top of their wishlist, En-Nesyri could be used as a bargaining chip. Juventus want €50 million for the Serbian, who's reportedly not in Igor Tudor's plans. Fenerbahçe are said to be ready to offer €40 million, and En-Nesyri's sale could cover the rest.
Despite a recent dip in form, En-Nesyri remains a key figure in Mourinho's setup, having scored crucial goals against the likes of Trabzonspor and Rizespor. Yet the board sees inconsistency and is prepared to listen to offers.
Mourinho may be deemed the 'special one,' but with title pressure mounting and a €30m decision looming, even he might not have the final say on En-Nesyri's fate. Tags: FenerbahceJose Mourinhosuper ligYoussef En-Nesyri
