Taneja aerospace plans aircraft making unit in AP

1 2 3 Vijayawada: Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited (TAAL), a leading Indian aircraft manufacturer, has showed keen interest in establishing an aircraft manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed project aims to produce 12-seater private jets and set up an aviation software division under the TallTech brand. If materialised, this would be one of the first major aircraft manufacturing ventures in state, marking a significant development in the state's efforts to attract high-tech industries. The move is seen as part of the govt's larger strategy to position AP as an emerging hub for aviation and aerospace innovation. To discuss the proposal, TAAL representatives met state's minister for investment, infrastructure, R&B BC Janardhan Reddy at the Novotel Hotel in Vijayawada on Wednesday. During the meeting, the company presented a detailed outline of their investment plan, production capacities and infrastructure needs. Minister Janardhan Reddy acknowledged the proposal and said that the govt is open to supporting industrial projects that align with the state's development goals. He assured the delegation that AP offers a conducive policy environment and will provide necessary clearances and incentives for eligible projects. "The proposal by Taneja Aerospace is a welcome step toward expanding high-tech industrial capacity in the state," the minister said, noting that further evaluations will be conducted before any formal commitments are made. Govt officials stated that discussions are still at an early stage and technical and administrative assessments will follow to study the feasibility of the project. They reiterated that industries offering long-term economic benefits and employment potential will be prioritised under the current investment promotion policies. TAAL, known for its contributions to small aircraft manufacturing in other states, is looking to expand operations with both manufacturing and software components. -
