Former Australian of the Year's partnership with Nike at risk after anti-Israel content

Institute of Public Affairs Daniel Wild discusses former Australian of the Year Grace Tame coming under fire for posting anti-Israel social media content. Ms Tame's posting has put her partnership with Nike at risk, as Ms Tame endorsed that the Washington shooting was not an anti-semitic attack. 'Good on Nike for doing this,' Mr Wild told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'It's a shame for Grace Tame. 'For her to go down the road of political activism, I think, has really let down the important work that she did.'

Australian activist suggests Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre was killed

A prominent activist for survivors of sexual abuse has claimed that Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre was killed rather than died by suicide. Grace Tame – a well-known campaigner against sexual violence – disputed the official narrative and spread a conspiracy theory over Ms Giuffre's death. The 41-year-old's family said that the mother-of-three, who was trafficked and abused by paedophile American financier Jeffrey Epstein and, had taken her own life in her home near Perth last week. In a previous social media post from 2019, Ms Giuffre – who also claimed she has sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17 – insisted she was not 'suicidal'. The Duke of York has always denied having sex with Ms Giuffre but paid an out-of-court settlement – believed to be around £12,000,000 – to her in 2022. Her claims about not being suicidal have resurfaced since her passing, fuelling unfounded conspiracy theories over whether her death was actually self-inflicted or part of a larger plot to hide sex trafficking among the ultra-elite. 'I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal,' she wrote in 2019. 'I have made this known to my therapist and GP. If something happens to me – in the sake of my family do not let this go away and help me to protect them. 'Too many evil people want to see me quieted.' Ms Giuffre's statement was in response to a user who wrote: 'FBI will kill her to protect the ultra rich and well connected.' US House Republican Nancy Mace shared the old tweet on X, saying: 'This gave me goosebumps.' Ms Tame – who endured sexual abuse as a school girl before going on to become a campaigner for fellow victims – weighed in on the alleged murder plot under a post by Marie Claire Australia yesterday. The post, picturing Ms Giuffre, simply stated: 'Virginia Giuffre, Epstein survivor and advocate, has died.' Ms Tame commented under the post '*been killed'. It is unclear if Ms Tame was hinting at a more sinister intent behind Ms Giuffre's passing, or if she was referring to the external environment – such as the alleged abuse and public scrutiny – as responsible for her death. Her statement flies in the face of a statement that Ms Giuffre's family have released. 'It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,' they said. 'She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.' More Trending Weeks before her death, Ms Giuffre shared a disturbing Instagram post claiming she only had 'four days to live' following a collision with a bus. The bus driver later claimed she exaggerated the seriousness of the crash. Adding to Ms Giuffre's distress was the separation from her husband of two decades in January.
