Over 300 jellyfish stings reported on these Florida beaches
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — One Florida county recorded hundreds of complaints of jellyfish stings over Memorial Day weekend.
Officials in Volusia County have recorded over 360 stings on popular beaches like Daytona and New Smyrna since Saturday, according to a report from NBC affiliate WESH.

Tammy Malphurs, the Volusia beach safety director, said jellyfish have taken over and there's no telling when they'll move on.
'They're just at the mercy of the winds and the currents,' Malphurs said.
Beachgoers are urged to keep an eye out for the critters while swimming and to watch their step while walking along the shoreline. Anyone who experiences a sting should seek out a lifeguard tower, which are stocked with vinegar.
Vinegar rapidly halts the thousands of tiny, unfired stinging cells left on the skin after it comes into contact with a tentacle, according to UF Health.
