Hyeri can't hide her jealousy of Park Bo Gum over When Life Gives You Tangerines' success, complains about joining Netflix late

Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun recently dropped by Hyeri's Hyell's Club to promote their Prime Video release Good Boy. Lately, Bo Gum's been on a winning streak, thanks to his Netflix smash When Life Gives You Tangerines. In the drama, he stars as Gwan Sik alongside IU; the show dominated global charts for consecutive weeks and even sparked full-blown 'Gwan Sik syndrome.' Meanwhile, Hyeri's Friendly Rivalry also arrived on Netflix at the same time but didn't quite hit Tangerines levels. But she made sure to show her playful jealousy, barely hiding how much that stung. Also read: Park Bo Gum made a request to Kim So Hyun years ago: 'Remember this when the time comes'; the story behind Good Boy casting The trio kicked off their chat with plenty of behind-the-scenes talk from Good Boy—Bo Gum's second big project this year. The K-drama follows a group of athletes-turned-rookie cops. The three shared laughs, threw compliments around, and somewhere in between, Bo Gum casually mentioned he'd just finished watching Friendly Rivalry. He praised Hyeri for her performance, saying, 'It was so impressive yet surprising at the same time.' But instead of looking flattered, the Reply 1988 star pouted and playfully reminded him how When Life Gives You Tangerines stole the spotlight. 'We joined Netflix a bit late, and by then, Tangerines was already number one,' she said. 'But honestly, it's one of the standout works in Oppa's filmography. Everyone's just going to call you Gwan Sik now.' In response, Bo Gum didn't downplay the success and instead thanked her for remembering the character. 'I'm grateful and honoured to have such a project in my filmography. Thank you for remembering me as Gwan-sik. Being remembered as a character is precious and meaningful for an actor.' He added, 'I hoped the story would warm the world, and I'm glad it resonated well.' Bo Gum and Hyeri go way back to their breakout roles as Choi Taek and Go Deok Sun in the 2015 hit Reply 1988. The duo's off-screen friendship has stayed solid since, and fans got a sweet throwback recently when they showed up together at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards—posing for a few couple shots that instantly reignited the nostalgia. Hyeri later took to Instagram, writing, 'It was such a valuable and honoured moment just to be nominated for the Baeksang Arts Daesang! I will continue to work hard in acting and repay you with an even better version of myself. Thank you so, so much!!!!' He burst into laughter and suddenly called the producer to fix Hyeri's hair. 'I was looking at you and I thought you were wearing headphones.' While she got her hair fixed, the actor found a hairpin and offered, 'I'll fix your hair if it rises again.' To which his Good Boy co-star Kim So Hyun added, 'He's really good with hair.' Then Bo Gum revealed he has a certificate in hairdressing, which he earned while serving in the military. 'I got it in the military. I was a barber.' Hyeri curiously asked, 'Do you have to take an exam?' Bo Gum replied, 'You have to take an exam. You have to know how to handle hot irons and also know how to cut hair.'

Dave Richards reveals Dundee United 'No 1' summer plan

Dave Richards will be working hard this summer to make himself Dundee United's next 'number one'. The Tangerines stopper had to content himself with a place on the bench for the vast majority of last season, with first pick stopper Jack Walton in top form. United had hoped to sign Walton on a permanent basis this summer after two successful loan spells at Tannadice. However, parent club Luton Town have extended his contract by a year, plunging the Tangerines' plans into doubt. Richards has a year remaining on his deal at Tannadice and, after helping United to secure their place in Europe while deputising for the injured Walton in the final two matches of the season, he hopes to start next term the way he finished this one. 'It's always in my head to be number one,' said the 31-year old. 'I work hard every day to make sure I'm in good nick and ready for when the opportunity comes. 'I've played the last two games, so fingers crossed I can go away, put my feet up, come back ready and raring to go for the start of next season.' On United's fourth-placed Premiership finish, Richards added: 'It's absolutely brilliant, especially because we just got promoted. 'I don't know how many newly promoted teams have finished fourth in recent years. We worked really hard this year for it.' After featuring twice in the group stages of the Premier Sports Cup after signing up last summer, Richards found himself playing second fiddle to Walton. Despite his lack of game time, United boss Jim Goodwin revealed the Welshman made himself the 'life and soul' of the dressing room. And when his opportunity arrived in the final week of the campaign, with crucial games to come against Rangers and Aberdeen, he couldn't wait to grasp it. 'From Monday (before United's clash with the Gers), the manager came over and said that I was playing, so get myself prepared and ready,' explained Richards. 'It's been a long time coming, but, I felt good and I felt confident in goal. 'I was a little bit rusty, but obviously that's going to be the case having not played for a while. 'Overall I absolutely loved it.' Richards also loved the scenes at Tannadice after United's last-day win over Aberdeen, when Tangerines fans joined with their heroes to celebrate qualifying for Europe. 'I had goosebumps,' the goalkeeper said. 'I was like, 'Whoa, I like this!' It was really good and to see the fans like that, they all deserve it after what happened a couple of years ago with getting relegated. 'This club deserves to be in Europe. This will be the first for me. 'I'm really, really looking forward to that. 'Fingers crossed I come back in really good shape, ready for pre-season and I have a good go at it.'

Park Bo Gum compares roles in When Life Gives You Tangerines and upcoming drama GOOD BOY: ‘Truly love one person...'

Anticipation is building for Park Bo Gum's return to television in the action-packed drama GOOD BOY. The actor recently opened up about the similarities and contrasts between his role in the upcoming series and his previous hit drama with IU. He discussed the growth, spirit, and emotional depth of both characters, offering fans a deeper understanding of his creative process. Park Bo Gum was asked to compare his character from the successful drama When Life Gives You Tangerines to his upcoming role in GOOD BOY. The question focused on whether there are significant parallels between the two characters. Drawing parallels between two roles In a roundtable, Park Bo Gum revelaed that both Yang Gwan Sik from Tangerines and Yoon Dong Ju from GOOD BOY share a proactive, action-first attitude. Park started with gratitude, 'First of all, thank you for the love on When Life Gives You Tangerines.' He explained, 'If I were to compare the two characters, Gwan Sik and Dong Ju, what's similar with the two of them is that they are always action-first and they are very proactive, and they also both know how to truly love one person, and they also both have a very healthy mindset.' Key differences While their emotional core may be alike, the actor pointed out a stark difference in their physicality and life paths. 'What's different about them, I'd say, is that Dong Ju, he's a really good fighter and he's a very talented athlete,' Park noted. 'I would say that in the case of Gwan Sik, no matter how hard he tried, he had to remain at fourth place (in the family) at best. So I would say those are some of the differences.' About GOOD BOY After capturing hearts alongside IU in the touching series When Life Gives You Tangerines, Park Bo Gum is now ready to explore a very different tone in GOOD BOY. The new drama follows a team of retired national athletes who trade their medals for police badges. The cast include Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Suk. Through a special recruitment program, they join the force to combat injustice and corruption with both brains and brawn. Fans of Park Bo Gum can look forward to watching him take on a high-energy role that promises thrills, laughs, and moments of heartfelt reflection.

'When I look for potential projects, the first thing I ask myself is, is this a good, entertaining story? And the second one is: does it make me think? And also, I like to think whether this is something that you can watch with your family and discuss,' says Bo Gum. The action comedy Good Boy follows a group of former national athletes who become police officers. Swapping medals for badges, the one time champs turn into vigilantes in their fight against corruption, injustice and crime. The actor reveals Good Boy was the first project he took on return from his military enlistment in 2023. 'This was a challenge I took on for myself. I had never done an action comedy and crime investigation genre before.' Dundee United in Europa Conference League: Draw dates, potential opponents and prize money on offer

Dundee United will begin their continental adventure in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round. Many onlookers assumed that the Tangerines were destined for the Europa League – even United's own social media team – but Aberdeen's stunning Scottish Cup triumph over Celtic effectively knocked the Terrors down a competition. Nevertheless, that will do nothing to lessen the anticipation as eager Arabs dust off their passports and start looking ahead to what next season will bring. Courier Sport has all the details from draw and fixture dates, to seedings and prize money. Europa League second qualifying round draw: June 18. Before the draw takes place, the teams will be divided into groups – further narrowing down United's list of potential opponents. Europa Conference League third qualifying round draw: July 21. Europa Conference League playoff round draw: August 4. Europa Conference League second qualifying round: July 24/July 31. Europa Conference League third qualifying round: August 7/August 14. Europa Conference League playoff round: August 21/August 28. United will be seeded for the second qualifying round, affording – in theory – a decent opportunity to continue their European journey. Should they progress to the third qualifying round, they will be unseeded. If the Tangerines upset the odds and reach the playoff round, they are likely to be seeded (having assumed the seeding of the team they beat in the prior round), however that is not certain. It depends on how that coefficient stacks up against the other teams in the draw and – without knowing the make-up of that draw – it is impossible to say for sure. There is no safety net for Jim Goodwin's charges. Once they lose a tie, they are out of Europe altogether. Regardless of their European success, or lack thereof, qualification will see United earn a decent windfall. If United exit continental competition after just one tie, then United will still bank around £440,000. Elimination at the third qualifying round will see them earn £750,000. If they exit at the playoff stage, the run will have been worth slightly more than £1 million. A remarkable qualification for the Europa Conference League group phase – which Aberdeen now have as a guaranteed fall-back – would be worth £4 million. These figures do not factor in the potential money earned from a packed Tannadice, hospitality and TV rights for each match, which could comfortably add another six figures to the club coffers. As it stands, there are so many variable and live issues within other nations across the continent that it is impossible to provide a definitive list of teams that will be on the unseeded side of the draw. Even when all the qualifiers are locked in, there will be 44 potential opponents to consider (until Uefa split the clubs into smaller groups ahead of the draw on June 18). However, for a taster, teams that have confirmed their spot already span the globe, from Dungannon Swifts of Northern Ireland to Araz Nakhchivan of Azerbaijan. Banga Gargzdai (Lithuania), Ordabasy Shymkent (Kazakhstan), Zimbru Chisinau (Moldova) and La Fiorita (San Marino) are also among a sprawling list of destinations, far and wide. But while there is no official regionalisation at this stage of the draw (that has been the case since 2009), several sources do reference Uefa informally considering geography when arranging the final groupings of potential opponents. As a reference point, St Mirren's potential foes at the same stage of the same competition last season were limited to Brann Bergen (Norway), Hacken (Sweden), Bruno's Magpies (Gibraltar), Valur (Iceland) and Cliftonville (Ireland). Should that be the case, an opponent from the British Isles, Scandanavia, the Balkans, the Netherlands or Belgium would be most likely.
