Cuttack: Odisha governor Haribabu Kambhampati highlighted the crucial role of city-level development in realising the vision of a developed India, during his one day visit to Cuttack on Thursday. He reviewed the progress of key development projects and welfare schemes, urging officials to ensure that the benefits reach every eligible citizen. "To achieve the goal of developed India, we have to first fulfill the dream of developed Cuttack and developed Odisha. Rather than waiting for national progress to reflect locally, we must proactively transform Cuttack from the grassroots," he said. During his review meeting with department officers, the governor was briefed on significant projects currently underway in the district. These include, Mahanadi Riverfront Development Project, Tarakshi Hub, SCB Medical College Hospital expansion, Chandi Mandir Redevelopment and restoration of tourism infrastructure at Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das' birthplace in Satyabhamapur. Collector (Cuttack) Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde said these projects are progressing steadily and will be completed within the scheduled time. The governor stressed the need for strengthening implementation of welfare schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, Subhadra Yojana, Mudra Yojana and Lakhpati Didi Yojana. He urged banks to promote financial literacy and ease access to insurance and loan schemes. Later in the day, the governor interacted with citizens, beneficiaries, and civil society groups, expressing satisfaction over the city's development trajectory. Senior govt officials, MLAs, and civic leaders attended the day-long review.
