David Guetta electrifies Porsche EV campaign at MBR Solar Park
Electronic music pioneer David Guetta, one of the most celebrated DJs across the globe, has partnered with Porsche for the brand's latest campaign. The video shoot showcased Porsche's latest all-electric vehicles – the Macan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo GT –at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA's) Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park racing to the tune of David Guetta's Future Rave Remix of 'Titanium' in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). In an exclusive conversation with Campaign Middle East, Markus Peter, Marketing Director at Porsche Middle East and Africa, said, 'The campaign was built on three fundamental pillars. First, we sought strong partnerships that would amplify our message, collaborating with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to highlight not only performance but also the shared vision of sustainability and innovation.' Peter added, 'Second, we needed a location that visually represented electricity, power and the future, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park provided the perfect stage. Finally, we wanted a sound that captured the Porsche spirit – technically perfect, yet deeply emotional. David Guetta's Future Rave Remix of 'Titanium' was the ideal track, bringing an electrifying energy to the film and amplifying the connection between sound, speed and spectacle. Music played an essential role in shaping the dynamic pace of the film, creating a sensory experience that mirrors the excitement of driving a Porsche.' David Guetta sets up DJ booth atop 263m Solar Park Tower The 263m Solar Park tower, the tallest of its kind, became David Guetta's DJ booth – illuminated by a display of light and motion. The pulsating beats amplified the energy of the high-speed sequences, laser precision and cutting-edge visuals. 'Beyond the aesthetic, Porsche also showcased the sheer performance of its electric vehicles. The campaign featured extreme dynamic driving stunts, making a statement that electrification and adrenaline can go hand in hand,' Peter said. The Macan Turbo, which co-starred in the campaign production, showcased a maximum torque of 1,130 Nm, demonstrating its sporty performance by accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 260 kmph. 'At DEWA, we are pleased to support initiatives that reflect Dubai's unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and clean energy,' said His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DEWA. 'The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is a global landmark for renewable energy, and hosting this extraordinary collaboration with Porsche, David Guetta, and the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) underscores the limitless potential of clean energy in shaping the future,' Al Tayer added. In addition to the main film, three behind the scenes episodes were shot to provide more information about this futuristic location and its cutting-edge technology, the collaboration with David Guetta and the techniques used to bring this film to life. Dr. Manfred Bräunl, Chief Executive Officer, Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, said, 'Dubai is a city that never stops surprising. The solar park is an incredible location, and not many people know about it. That's when we thought, it's perfect for Porsche as it aligns with our clear path towards sustainability.' Rollout of the Porsche integrated campaign The fully integrated global campaign was orchestrated across all international Porsche channels, as well as across DET and DEWA platforms, for amplified reach. The campaign had a comprehensive digital-first approach, with a homepage takeover, immersive social media engagement, and even David Guetta-themed car configurations for the Macan and Taycan. 'The execution was designed to deliver impact at every level, from the hero awareness film all the way down to point-of-sale engagement. Every touchpoint was strategically aligned to immerse audiences in the campaign, leaving no stone unturned to create a cohesive and memorable experience,' Peter said. Keko was the creative agency in Dubai leading the campaign, while Munich-based company Hochkant managed the production. The film was directed by Kit Lynch-Robinson, who brought his expertise in high-energy automotive storytelling to Dubai, and was captured through the lens of cinematographer MacGregor, known for his breathtaking work on Fall and Kandahar. 'Their ability to push creative limits is evident in every single frame of the campaign, and the result is a masterpiece we are tremendously proud of,' Peter added. The campaign officially launched on 24 March and will run through mid-April, with further amplifications through additional media outlets extending until mid-year. 'Given the scale of the production and its global appeal, we expect to see continued engagement beyond the initial campaign period, keeping Porsche's electrification story alive in customers' minds,' Peter added. He concluded, 'We are measuring success through a combination of reach, views, homepage visits and Porsche vehicle configurations, which give us direct insights into customer engagement. Additionally, we are tracking social listening and sentiment analysis to gauge how the campaign is resonating with audiences worldwide. More than just numbers, what matters is the conversation – how people are reacting to Porsche's journey, and how this campaign is shaping perceptions.' Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Smokes 911 Turbo S Lap Record
Read the full story on Modern Car Collector In a remarkable display of electric vehicle prowess, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has set a new lap record for EVs at Brazil's renowned Interlagos circuit, outpacing the formidable Porsche 911 Turbo S. Brazilian racing driver Felipe Nasr achieved the feat, navigating the circuit in an impressive 1 minute and 42.1 seconds, eclipsing the previous record held by the 911 Turbo S by nearly a full second. This achievement not only underscores the advancements in electric vehicle technology but also marks a significant milestone for Porsche, as the automaker now holds both the EV and gas-powered production car lap records at Interlagos. The previous lap record for combustion engine vehicles was set by a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR earlier this month. The Taycan Turbo GT, Porsche's most potent EV offering, boasts a staggering 1092 horsepower, which propels the car from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.1 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph. This impressive performance is a step up even from the Taycan Turbo S, which recorded a lap time of 1 minute and 49.8 seconds at the same circuit last year. Porsche's electric flagship has not only dominated at Interlagos but also holds records at other iconic tracks, including California's Laguna Seca and Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife, further establishing its supremacy in the electric vehicle segment. This latest record at Interlagos serves as a testament to the evolving landscape of automotive engineering, where electric vehicles increasingly rival their internal combustion counterparts in both speed and agility. Porsche's commitment to enhancing its electric vehicle lineup is evident as it continues to push the boundaries of what these cars can achieve on the racetrack. The achievement by the Taycan Turbo GT at Interlagos not only highlights the capabilities of electric vehicles but also sets a new benchmark in the world of high-performance sports cars, signaling a promising future for electric racing. Porsche's Taycan Turbo GT Beats the 911 Turbo S Around This Grand Prix Track
Porsche's fastest and most extreme electric car, the Taycan Turbo GT, was already named Road & Track's Performance EV of the Year in its price segment for 2025 — and now, it has another prize to its name. The Taycan Turbo GT has set the official fastest lap for an EV at Interlagos, home of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Not only that, the electric four-door beat Porsche's most powerful 911 variant, the 911 Turbo S. Felipe Nasr, a Brazilian former F1 driver and a factory driver with Porsche Penske Motorsport's 963 prototype program, lapped the grand prix circuit in 1:42.1. Not only is that nearly eight seconds quicker than the previous EV record set by a Taycan Turbo S at 1:49.8, the lap is quicker than the time of 1:43.1 set by a 911 Turbo S. The GT-branded Taycan is also faster than official Porsche laps in a last-generation Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (1:48.3) and a Cayenne Turbo GT (1:48.5) but still more than five seconds behind the ridiculously quick 991-generation 911 GT2 RS equipped with a Manthey kit (1:37) Just as with Porsche's previously-announced EV lap records at Laguna Seca and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Taycan Turbo GT's lap at Interlagos puts it in the realm of GT4 race cars. Not only is that impressive for an EV, it's particularly eye-opening for a four-door sedan of any power source. Still, a similarly powerful electric Porsche not carrying around the extra weight of a sedan could theoretically run laps even faster, and the quickest versions of Porsche's upcoming electric 718 may well be able to one-up all of the records currently being set by the Taycan Turbo GT. If the GT4 E-Performance concept that Porsche showed off in 2022 is any indication, the quickest variants of that car could be the fastest road-going EVs to ever lap a race track. At least, until Porsche's subsequent generation comes along. You Might Also Like You Need a Torque Wrench in Your Toolbox Tested: Best Car Interior Cleaners The Man Who Signs Every Car

This Porsche Sets Another Speed Record—This Time in Brazil
Three-time IMSA champion Felipe Nasr set the new lap record for electric cars at Interlagos, the demanding F1 circuit in São Paulo, Brazil. The Taycan Turbo GT was equipped with the lightweight Weissach package, and no rear bench seat. Carbon-fiber components contributed to saving 157 pounds compared to the Taycan Turbo S. The Taycan Turbo GT has a limited-time peak power of up to 1,019 hp, with or without the Weissach package. Porsche has another speed record to hoist on its trophy shelf in Stuttgart. A Taycan Turbo GT driven by three-time IMSA champion Felipe Nasr has set a new lap record for electric cars at Interlagos, the demanding F1 circuit in São Paulo, Brazil. For the February 5 record drive, the Taycan Turbo GT was equipped with the lightweight Weissach package, and no rear bench seat, as well as OEM Pirelli Trofeo RS performance tires. Porsche shaved the backside of the spokes of this Taycan's forged aluminum wheels to further save weight. Nasr, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, set a lap time of 1:42.13 on the 2.67-mile Interlagos circuit, shaving almost eight seconds off the record set by the Taycan Turbo S in 2022 (1:49.8). The achievement echoes similar records in Europe, North America, and Asia. 'I expected the strong acceleration and torque but, ultimately, it was the overall performance that really impressed me,' Nasr said of the Taycan Turbo GT, which has a limited-time peak power of up to 1,019 hp, with or without the Weissach package. At the push of a button, Attack Mode cranks up another 160 hp for up to 10 seconds. 'It's amazing how quickly the car accelerates and delivers its power,' said the Porsche Penske Motorsport team driver, who will compete in the 12 Hours of Sebring IMSA race in March. 'The steering of the Taycan Turbo GT was very precise in the slow corners and remained stable even under heavy braking. The balance, the grip—a real performance machine.' The record-setting car was equipped with standard Porsche Active Ride suspension with GT-specific tuning for balanced distribution of the wheel loads in dynamic driving situations. Carbon-fiber components contributed to saving 157 pounds compared to the Taycan Turbo S. Another record for the all-electric Taycan GTS came two months ago when Porsche Experience instructor Jens Richter achieved the longest continuous EV drift on ice, covering a distance of 10.87 miles, sideways. For context, here are other Porsche lap times at Interlagos: 2022 Taycan Turbo S: 1:49.828 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT: 1:48.493 2022 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid: 1:48.33 2022 911 Turbo S (992): 1:43.0872018 911 GT2 RS (991) with Manthey Kit: 1:36.967 Officially known as the Autodrome José Carlos Pace, Brazil's home of Formula 1 and the FIA Endurance Championship (WEC), the circuit is known globally for the successes of national hero Ayrton Senna in the races of the early 1990s. The Taycan Turbo GT has served as a Formula E safety car since May 2024, when it took over the role from the Taycan Turbo S.
