FAMU golf wins program's first-ever SWAC Championship; will appear in NCAA Tournament
Florida A&M won its first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday, April 16, 2025.
Florida A&M's golf team has made history in Birmingham.
On April 16, the Rattlers hoisted the program's first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference trophy by shooting a final round 292 (+4) to finish six strokes ahead of runner-up Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley

Prairie View A&M and Alabama A&M finished the SWAC Championship in third and fourth place in the SWAC Championship.
FAMU freshman golfer Sascha Robinson led the Rattlers to victory, claiming Low Medalist and Freshman Low Medalist honors. Robinson is one of three Rattlers to make the All-SWAC First Team, joined by Miguel Illas and Jonathan Scott.
Taylor Bell made the SWAC's second team.

FAMU head coach Mike Rice was named the SWAC's Coach of the Year.
The Rattlers' last conference title was in 2021 when they won their first and only Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship before realigning to the SWAC the following season. FAMU's SWAC title comes a year after winning the PGA Works HBCU National Championship.

Next up for FAMU is the NCAA Tournament, which begins in May.
