UFT president wants mayoral candidates to experience a day in the classroom
NEW YORK (PIX11) — United Federation of Teachers President Michael Mulgrew appears on PIX on Politics to discuss the union's request for mayoral candidates to participate in a 'Teacher for a Day' initiative.
Mulgrew does not specify which candidates have participated, but he does share his hopes for what they should gain from the experience.
Mulgrew also discusses the cell phone ban (now passed in the state budget) and how it will affect New York City schools.
