Patrick Mahomes' Wordless Reaction to Chiefs' New Post

Patrick Mahomes' Wordless Reaction to Chiefs' New Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs have officially kicked off their preparations for the upcoming season. This team is on a mission after being denied a place in history by the Philadelphia Eagles back in February. Instead of celebrating what would have been an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat, the Chiefs were forced to deal with the heartbreak of their 40-22 loss to the Eagles in the big game. Advertisement On Monday, the Chiefs held the first day of their second Organized Team Activities (OTAs) session in their practice facility. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes took part in the voluntary session, and the two-time All-Pro QB even took the time to share the Chiefs' post from Monday's practice. Mahomes did not have any caption for his post, though, instead opting to share a photo of himself from the OTAs via his Instagram stories. Mahomes' attendance in Monday's OTAs follows an appearance in the "Big Slick Celebrity Weekend" charity event, which was for the benefit of Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Advertisement Travis Kelce also took part in the event alongside Mahomes, but it is worth noting that the Chiefs' star tight end was nowhere to be found in Monday's practice session. For what it's worth, both Mahomes and Kelce were in attendance for the Chiefs' OTAs last week. Pittsburgh Steelers veterans, rookies come together for 2025 OTAs

The weather has felt more like October than May, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have made the most of Mother Nature during Organized Team Activities. The week of voluntary sessions does not always see tremendous attendance, but there was a noticeable veteran presence at practice. Many of them say there's a lot of value in being there for mentorship and to shake the offseason rust. Advertisement 'We've got a lot of new stuff that we're doing, a lot people in different places, a lot of new schemes. So, it's definitely exciting to be here right now,' said Patrick Queen. One of the new faces is cornerback Darius Slay. He is entering his 13th season but says he still sees OTAs as an opportunity to get back to fundamentals and learn more about his new teammates. That includes establishing his role as a mentor to younger ones, like Joey Porter Jr and Beanie Bishop. 'Everybody has different stories, different mindsets. I just try to be an open book. Just absorb what they're talking about and give them information on what I've been through or how I got to this point. And they ask questions. That's the great thing about them,' said Slay. Slay said his new relationships are progressing quickly. Some of the younger players are planning to join him in Houston for workouts this summer. Advertisement While guys like Slay and Cam Heyward are natural leaders for the team, others like Alex Highsmith are growing into more prominent leadership roles. 'Just to really influence young guys and show them the way of what it takes. When I got here as a rookie, I had TJ and Bud and Cam, having veterans like that in my room really helped me to progress in my career. I just want to do what I can to help the young guys progress in their careers as well,' said Highsmith. Multiple players confirm that T.J. Watt was not at practice this week. He is due for a new contract. Highsmith said he knows Watt wants to be there and believes a new deal will happen for his counterpart. Download the FREE WPXI News app for breaking news alerts. Saints TEs Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau out of OTAs with knee injuries

The Saints are thin at tight end during Organized Team Activities. Saints coach Kellen Moore confirmed that neither Taysom Hill nor Foster Moreau will participate in OTAs as they both continue to recover from knee injuries suffered late last season. Although he's listed as a tight end, Hill is actually the most experienced quarterback on the Saints' roster and might be taking some snaps at quarterback if he were healthy. But Hill suffered a torn ACL in Week 13. Moreau was carted off the field in the Saints' regular-season finale in January and hasn't been cleared to return yet, but he did tell reporters that he's feeling good and making progress in his recovery. The Saints' top healthy tight end at OTAs is Juwan Johnson.

Seahawks OTA practices begin on Tuesday

Seahawks OTA practices begin on Tuesday The Seattle Seahawks' offseason continues this week, as the first of their nine Organized Team Activities (OTA) practices will begin on Tuesday. These practices are voluntary. What is not voluntary, however, will be Seattle's three-day minicamp at the end of June, which will start on the 17th and conclude on the 19th. Here are the following dates for the Seahawks' OTA sessions: May 27th May 29th-30th June 2nd June 4th-5th June 9th June 11th-12th While these are technically classified as voluntary, it's hard to imagine many members of the team won't be in attendance. I'm sure we will see quarterbacks Sam Darnold, Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe, as well as wide receiver Cooper Kupp. The Seahawks are undergoing several massive changes offensively by virtue of bringing in an entirely new offensive staff. Klint Kubiak is brand new in the Emerald City and it's going to take some time to install his system. Now, it helps that Sam Darnold is familiar with Kubiak, as the two spent time together for one season in San Francisco. Still, Darnold will need time to re-familiarize himself with it, as well as develop further chemistry with Kupp, JSN, MVS, Jake Bobo and rookie receivers Tory Horton and Ricky White III. Needless to say, the new Seahawks are going to need all the time they can get to be ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season.

Cowboys superstar defensive end Micah Parsons, who attended voluntary Organized Team Activities on Monday, was absent on Tuesday, according to a team insider. More news: Eagles' Jalen Hurts Breaks Silence on Skipping White House Visit Jon Machota of The Athletic reports that Parsons was absent from the team on Tuesday, although head coach Brian Scottenheimer states he had lunch with Parsons on Monday. "When he's here, he's been great. And again, it's all voluntary. So, guys are in and out, some guys come to meetings, some guys come to practice, some guys are just here getting treatment and things like that. And that's not just specific to Micah, it's specific to all the guys," Schottenheimer told reporters per Machota. Cowboys DE Micah Parsons was at the start of voluntary OTAs yesterday. He was not in attendance today. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer had lunch with Parsons yesterday. Schottenheimer: 'When he's here, he's been great. And again, it's all voluntary. So guys are in and out,… — Jon Machota (@jonmachota) May 20, 2025 Parsons is currently negotiating a new contract, as he is in the final year of his rookie deal after the Cowboys exercised his fifth-year option. The star pass-rusher has recorded 52.5 sacks during his first four seasons. This past season, Parson finished sixth in PFF's overall grade for edge rushers, fourth in pass rush grade, though only 72nd in run defense. He recorded 14 sacks this past season, ranking third among edge players. Overall, Parsons is one of the most effective players at pressuring the quarterback, and despite breaking out in his rookie year and immediately garnering the attention of the offensive coordinator, he has still managed to wreak havoc against the opposing offensive line. ARLINGTON, TX - DECEMBER 22: Micah Parsons #11 of the Dallas Cowboys walks towards the locker room against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during an NFL football game at AT&T Stadium on December 22, 2024 in Arlington, Texas. Micah Parsons shares what Cowboys need to do to bounce back in 2025. MoreMore news: NFL Vote to Allow Players to Play in Olympics Flag Football Passes Unanimously Considering his performance and his earlier statements about wanting to remain with the Cowboys, Parsons is poised to secure a significant overall contract, which should materialize in Dallas, although the Cowboys seem to be adopting a certain level of hardball tactics. The team took a similar stance in negotiations with franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, which led to the deal taking several months to finalize, although there were multiple occasions when it seemed likely that he would be traded. Parsons is entering the prime of his career at nearly 26 years old, and a long-term five-year deal should help him finish out the rest of his athletic peak with Dallas. Looking at the big edge rusher contracts market, Myles Garrett signed a deal worth $40 million per year, while Danielle Hunter's sits at $35.6 million and Crosby at $35.5 million per season. Considering his age and production, Parsons is likely to earn a million or two more a year than those players, potentially reaching up to $5 million more with a five-year deal, which would break the record for the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
