Scottish drinks brand scores new deal with world curling champions
Scotland's curling stars have signed a new sponsorship deal with the country's only Scotch whisky cream liqueur brand, Magnum, after winning their second world title at the men's championships in Canada earlier this month. Team Mouat are now Magnum's official ambassadors for 2025, helping to represent and boost the brand on the world stage. Led by Edinburgh-born skipper, Bruce Mouat, the team of four men from Edinburgh, Stranraer and Dumfries are now sweeping into action for a range of promotional activities, special guest appearances, and tasting events across Scotland and in Canada. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Magnum, which is crafted and bottled at a dedicated global production centre in Fife, will also be sponsoring Team Mouat's official match kit this year, which they'll be proudly wearing at the grand slam of Curling events in Canada and America, plus others across Europe. Team Mouat celebrating their world championship win in Canada Team Mouat has continued its winning streak at the recent Players' Championship Grand Slam in Canada, making it their fourth slam win of the season and tenth win overall. This is the first and only time this has ever been achieved on the circuit in a single season. Team Mouat have also clinched a spot for TeamGB at next year's Winter Olympics, Milano Cortina 2026. They are hoping to be announced as the team representing Great Britain later this year. Commenting on the new sponsorship deal with Magnum, Team Mouat Skipper, Bruce Mouat, said: 'We can't wait to hit the road with Magnum as part of its new campaign for 2025. Magnum's provenance and credentials allowed the brand to gain market momentum and secure its position as the only scotch malt whisky cream liqueur available in Canada in under a year. Since its launch in Canada in 2018, Magnum has quickly established itself in over 500 outlets across the country, including the seven provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Quebec, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. Charton Hobbs' extensive national infrastructure and unrivalled ability to execute brand support programmes is expected to drive Magnum's availability and volume in Canada throughout 2025, with around 30,000 litres expected to be shipped from Scotland. Meanwhile, Yannick Schwaller's Swiss side set up a second showpiece encounter in the space of a week by dispatching Team Dunstone. Schwaller's rink were defeated 5-4 by Bruce Mouat and his team in a dramatic world final in Moose Jaw, Canada. Now the Swiss will seek to right the wrongs of that loss in Sunday's final in Toronto, which will be played at 21:00 BST. Team Schwaller finished above Team Mouat in Pool A, with both teams winning four and losing once. Ross Whyte's rink were the only team to defeat their follow Scots at the pool stage but failed to reach the play-offs.

Team Mouat through to Grand Slam semi-finals
Team Mouat have reached the semi-finals of the Grand Slam of Curling - and their final appearance will be shown live on the BBC Sport website and app if they progress in Toronto, Canada. The recently crowned world champions will play the winner of Canadian sides Team Epping and Team Jacobs on Sunday (00:30 BST). Team Schwaller, of Switzerland, are also through to the last four and will face the winner of Team McEwen v Team Dunstone, another all-Canadian tie. Yannick Schwaller's rink finished above Bruce Mouat's world champions in Pool A, with both teams winning four and losing once. Scot Ross Whyte's rink were the only team to defeat Mouat's at the pool stage but Whyte will not feature in the play-offs. The final will be played at 21:00 on Sunday.
