Hip-hop artist Sweet Tee aids community members battling addiction
NEW YORK (PIX11) – She's a legendary hip-hop artist from Hollis, Queens.
Now, Sweet Tee is working on a new album and sharing a side of herself that you may not know with PIX11's Monica Morales.

She is working in the community, helping those struggling with addiction to get second chances.
Sweet Tee is considered one of the founding hip-hop queens from Hollis Queens.
She broke through barriers and became a superstar. Born Toi Crystal Jackson, she is known professionally as Sweet Tee. In the 1980s, she had several hits, including 'It's My Beat' and 'Teatime.'
Her passion now is helping people suffering from addiction.
One of her biggest fans is Secretary of State Walter Mosley.
Sweet Tee, Mosley, and DJ Spigg were guests on the February Monica Makes It Happen TV show.
She will become a licensed social worker in May.
Her greatest accomplishment, she says, is now being in the African American and hip-hop museums.
