Kaizer Chiefs to axe winger before Holland tour
Kaizer Chiefs will attempt to loan out one of their fringe wingers as he continues to struggle for game time with the Naturena giants. 31-year-old left-footed winger Tebogo Potsane is on the way out of Naturena. The Blom-born star has battled for regular minutes since a move from Royal AM in July 2023. He's only got 19 appearances in that time, with three assists. Here's an update via SoccerLaduma: 'For now, they have been looking at which players to release, and there is a list for those. But for Potsane, it is expected to be a loan move. They still think there is something in him, but things haven't been going well with him, so they believe a loan move could reignite the talent in him with more game time,' the source told Soccer Laduma. 'There are several factors the club is looking at to give a chance to Tebogo Potsane. They are finalising the squad which they are expected to take to Holland, and with new signings expected, they will release some and loan out some, and Potsane is on that list for now,' a source stated. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates right-back Thabiso Monyane could be on his way to Kaizer Chiefs. It's not the most far-fetched rumour we've ever heard. Pirates already have several players in that position. RUMOUR: Pirates star Monyane to Chiefs? Let us know by leaving a comment below or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs (Signings & Exits): R6-million star TRANSFER LISTED!
Kaizer Chiefs are set to undergo a squad overhaul with several departures and signings lined up. Kaizer Chiefs are going to undergo a major squad revamo at the end of the season. Moreover, head coach Nasreddine Nabi has listed the Amakhosi players he will be releasing at the end of the season. So, let's take a look at the latest players linked with exits as well as Chiefs' transfer targets. Chiefs midfielder Tebogo Potsane is the latest Amakhosi star linked with a likely exit. He has one year left in his current contract. However, he is reportedly one of the players that have been transfer listed, according to KickOff. 'It's believed that it won't be a direct release. They will put him on the transfer list and see if there are interested teams, of which it means they have to sell him,' 'They don't want to let him go for free and that's why he is believed to be put on transfer list,' the insider reported on the publication. Meaning, he is one of the men on Nabi's list of players set to be released. 'The difference with Tebogo from other players who are set to be released is that he still has one year on his contract and the team wants to cash in on him rather than release him for free,' Meanwhile, Potsane is valued at roughly R6 million (R6.24 million), according to the latest player evaluations on TransferMarkt. Fiston Mayele is one of Chiefs main transfer targets. Meanwhile, Fawaaz Basadien, Yanela Mbuthuma and Stanley Nwabili have all been linked with Amakhosi. Kaizer Chiefs winger to be offered to PSL clubs
Kaizer Chiefs has not been a successful stint for Tebogo Potsane, and the exit is on the horizon. The former Royal AM winger arrived in July 2023 on a three-year contract. The early times under coach Molefi Ntseki were promising before loss of form and injuries hit hard. Following his later game for Kaizer Chiefs in December 2024, the Bloemfontein-born star is set to depart from Amakhosi. 'Its believed that it won't be a direct release. They will put him on the transfer list and see if there are interested teams, of which it means they have to sell him,' a source told KickOff . 'They don't want to let him go for free and that's why he is believed to be put on transfer list. With the club looking to bring in new players, if there is a buyer, the 31-year-old could be one of the departing stars. 'The difference with Tebogo from other players who are set to be released is that he still has one year on his contract and the team wants to cash in on him rather than release him for free. 'They are looking at cutting down the squad while at the same time bringing in some new players at the start of next season,' the source added. Coach Molefi Ntseki names Kaizer Chiefs duo in Bafana Bafana's CHAN squad
Tebogo Potsane of Kaizer Chiefs has been called up to the Bafana Bafana squad that will face Malawi in a CHAN tie. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Coach Molefi Ntseki has named Kaizer Chiefs duo Tebogo Potsane and Samkelo Zwane in the Bafana Bafana squad for the final round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, starting this weekend. Despite Chiefs' recent struggles on the pitch — which have resulted in infrequent selections of their players for national duty — Potsane and Zwane's inclusion marks a notable shift in the selectors' approach. Their performances have not gone unnoticed, with their hard work and influence on the field earning them recognition amidst a competitive talent pool. The Chiefs duo will join forces with players from South Africa's other football heavyweights, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. Yanga Madiba (Pirates) and the Sundowns trio of Malibongwe Khoza, Terrence Mashego, and Neo Maema complete a squad boasting skill and experience. The squad will compete in the final round of the CHAN qualifiers starting this weekend, with a first-leg match against COSAFA neighbours Malawi on Saturday in Lilongwe. The second leg will take place at Loftus Stadium in Tshwane a week later. The players will assemble in Johannesburg on Monday morning and begin training before departing for Malawi on Thursday. With the first leg away, the team will aim to build a crucial advantage before returning to South African soil for the return fixture.
