Huawei Opens Tech Carnival 2025 in Tashkent

This marks the first time the major regional event is being held in the country. Themed 'Accelerating the Intelligent World,' the event brings together more than 1,500 government officials, industry leaders, and technology experts. It aims to explore how intelligent technologies can drive digital transformation across the region. Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, welcomed participants at the opening ceremony. He stated that Uzbekistan is committed to becoming a hub for digital excellence. He also emphasized the importance of global partnerships, including Huawei, in building future-ready infrastructure. Phillip Gan, Senior Vice President of Huawei and President for the Middle East and Central Asia region, shared the company's strategic vision. He noted that the world has seen three major technology shifts—from All IP to All Cloud, and now to All Intelligence. Gan reported that Huawei plans to help customers and partners capitalize on this new era. He revealed five key pillars essential for digital transformation: Connectivity, Computing, and Cloud platforms as the digital foundation Green development as a core value Building a sustainable digital ecosystem According to Huawei's Global Digitalization Index, every $1 invested in digital infrastructure can generate $8.3 in digital economic output. The Tech Carnival features over 50 technology demonstrations. These include AI-powered networks, next-generation cloud architecture, optical technologies, and intelligent storage systems. Attendees can experience how these innovations create end-to-end digital solutions. Yang Chaobin, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei's ICT Business Group, highlighted Huawei's AI initiatives. He announced that Huawei is enhancing network-based computing to improve large AI model efficiency and user experience. Derek Hao, President of Huawei Enterprise Business ME&CA, reinforced the company's ongoing partnerships. He revealed that Huawei has developed new digital solutions tailored to regional industries. These are based on its global practices and collaborations. In addition to technology, Huawei is investing in education. The company has established ICT academies in partnership with regional universities. Thousands of digital professionals are trained each year. Through the T.H.E Gold Talent Program, Huawei aims to cultivate one million digital talents in the region over the coming years. Gan concluded that the Middle East and Central Asia are actively pursuing digital, intelligent, and green transformation. He reiterated Huawei's commitment to bridging the digital divide and building sustainable prosperity. The Tech Carnival & Partner Summit 2025 runs through May 20.
