Fond du Lac police arrest man after SWAT, crisis negotiators respond to Doty Street incident
FOND DU LAC – A 29-year-old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody Sunday after streets were temporarily closed and SWAT and crisis negotiation teams were activated.
The incident began around 8:30 a.m. April 20 when police were continuing an investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred Saturday.
While officers were on scene, they learned the suspect was alone inside a residence in the 300 block of Doty Street.
Additional officers responded, established a perimeter and tried to contact the man, police said in a news release. Surrounding streets were also temporarily closed.

Fond du Lac Police Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office SWAT and crisis negotiation teams were activated. Both agencies also deployed rescue armored vehicles, K-9 teams and Technology Response Groups, which contain drone and robot resources. The teams worked to establish communication with the man, who was located by law enforcement at approximately 1:20 p.m.
The man was taken into custody without further incident and was taken to Fond du Lac County Jail. No injuries were reported, police said.
The incident is under investigation, police said, and no further details were immediately released Sunday.
