Missing elderly man found unconscious in Penang jungle
A missing elderly man from Penang was found alive but unconscious in a jungle yesterday. In a Threads post, @penangkini_ reported that Teh Seng Keat, 70, who had been missing since around 5.30pm on May 29 was discovered in Bukit Titi Serong, Balik Pulau. It is believed that the man lost control of his Perodua Myvi, which plunged down a 30-meter slope. In a video shared by the page, the man appeared exhausted and injured, having been trapped between rocks near his vehicle. He was later rescued using a stretcher with the help of members of the public and personnel from the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, before being sent to hospital for further treatment. According to the state department's director, Mohamad Shoki Hamzah, they received an emergency call from the public at 4.08pm yesterday regarding the incident. Previously, the elderly man's daughter shared in a Facebook post that her father had been missing after leaving a relative's home in Batu Lanchang.

The Penang fire and rescue department said the man's car had veered off a road at Bukit Titi Seong, Balik Pulau, and fallen down a 30m slope. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : A 78-year-old man from Gelugor, Penang, reported missing since yesterday evening, has been found in his car down a 30m slope. The Penang fire and rescue department said the man, Teh Seng Keat, was found to be physically injured and exhausted. 'He was brought up using a stretcher and sent for treatment,' the department said in a statement. Teh's daughter said in a Facebook post that her father had been missing since 5.30pm yesterday after he left a relative's house in Batu Lanchang and did not return home. He had phoned her mother this morning and said that his car fell into a ditch but he could not find his way back. The family tried to track him down using his mobile phone and was eventually told that a signal from his device was found around Jalan Baru in Balik Pulau. His car was spotted at around 3.30pm today but he was nowhere to be seen. The Penang fire and rescue department said it received information about a car that had veered off a road at Bukit Titi Seong, Balik Pulau, and fallen down a slope. The man was rescued at about 5pm. Teh's daughter said her father was semi-conscious in the hospital.

The victim, Teh Seng Keat, 78, who was driving a Perodua Myvi, is believed to have lost control of the car before plunging down the slope. Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Mohamad Shoki Hamzah said the department received an emergency call from the public at 4.08 pm today, informing them that a car had skidded off the road in the area.
