Resurvey of land in five villages where survey has not been conducted so far on experimental basis
The Revenue department has focussed its attention on resurvey of 413 villages where survey work has not been taken up since the days of Nizam's rule.
The government has decided to conduct resurvey on an experimental basis in five such villages — Salarnagar village of Gandeed mandal of Mahabubnagar district, Kommanapalli of Bhirpur mandal of Jagtial district, Mulugumada in Errupalem mandal (Khammam), Nuguru of Venkatapuram mandal (Mulugu) and Shahidnagar of Vatpalli (Sangareddy). Gram Sabhas are being conducted in these villages for educating people about the resurvey process which will be completed within a month.
According to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, it was the responsibility of the officials concerned for effectively implementing the people-centric decisions taken by the government at the field level. The government had decided to induct licenced surveyors as a permanent solution to the land record-related disputes and it was decided to recruit about 5,000 surveyors in different parts of the State in the first phase.
Two-month intensive training would be provided to these surveyors in district headquarters from May 26 and the applicants for the posts were accordingly directed to meet survey officials in their respective districts on Monday. Once the training is completed, it was decided to enrol six to eight surveyors in each mandal depending on the extent of land and volume of transactions.
The development, he said, follows the provision in the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act mandating inclusion of survey document along with other relevant papers at the time of registration of the land. Steps were taken to strengthen the land survey wing in this direction.
