T20 youth cricket tournament concludes with message against drugs and betting
Hyderabad, May 4 (UNI) The T20 Championship Cricket Tournament, organised under the banner "Cricket Khelo – Nasha Chodo" by the Telangana State Youth Congress, concluded on a grand note on Sunday at LB Stadium.
Held from April 27 to May 4, the tournament aimed to raise awareness among the youth against drug abuse and betting addictions.
State Youth Congress President Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy led the initiative, which drew large participation and public support.
Prominent dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav and BC Finance Corporation Chairman Nuthi Srikanth Goud, graced the finals as chief guests.
The tournament awarded a first prize of Rs 5,55,555 and a second prize of Rs 3,33,333, while top individual performers were also recognised.
The best player received an electric scooty, the best bowler was awarded a smart TV, and other outstanding players took home special prizes.
Speaking at the event, Shiva Charan Reddy said the tournament was part of a broader campaign inspired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's vision to protect the youth from the growing menace of drugs and betting.
He affirmed that the Youth Congress would continue to organise similar events to promote healthy lifestyles and build a bright future for Telangana's youth.
